Background

Tang Hao spent six years secretly watching Tang San grow up in Nuoding City and approved of Yu Xiaogang's early guidance. He regarded Tang San's cultivation as central to restoring his own standing with the Clear Sky Sect, which had suffered after Tang Hao's past actions and subsequent closure. 172

Known throughout the Soul Master world as the Clear Sky Douluo, Tang Hao's history with Spirit Hall makes other factions wary of sheltering him or becoming involved with him. His reputation is further tied to his past assault on a previous Pope. 166 173 180

As the former young master of the Clear Sky Sect, Tang Hao treats the sect's name and the Clear Sky Hammer as sacred sources of pride. He considers insults toward the sect intolerable and is willing to kill to protect its perceived dignity. 17 203 204

Personality

Tang Hao is intensely protective of Tang San, but his concern readily becomes aggression. Upon finding Tang San mentally impaired at Shrek Academy, he immediately threatened the staff, broke the chains restraining his son, and violently assaulted Flender when Flender tried to explain the situation. 173

His loyalty to the Clear Sky Sect strongly shapes his decisions. He views Tang San as both his only son and the means by which he can provide the sect an answer for its past losses and eventually return to it. 165 172

Tang Hao is deeply prideful about both the Clear Sky Hammer and the Clear Sky Sect's status. Lin Ye's mockery of the sect provoked him into abandoning his retreat and attempting to kill Lin Ye, whom he viewed as an obstacle to Tang San's future prominence. 203 204
