Background / History

Bone Douluo is one of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's two resident Title Douluos alongside Sword Douluo. Their lifelong rivalry is so familiar to the sect that disciples ignore even their aerial clashes. 53

He sensed exceptionally pure spatial energy connected to Xu Bai and immediately sought to claim him as an apprentice. Sword Douluo opposed him, having already taken an interest in Xu Bai, and their dispute repeatedly escalated into combat. 53 61

Bone Douluo formally accepted Xu Bai as his disciple, presenting him with a bead containing a full-strength Super Douluo attack as a welcome gift. He later gave Xu Bai a manual recording his lifetime of experience and understanding of spatial power. 68 69

Personality

Bone Douluo is competitive, eccentric, and easily provoked by Sword Douluo, especially where Xu Bai's apprenticeship is concerned. He is nevertheless willing to concede how valuable Xu Bai is, even when doing so means admitting inferiority to his rival. 53 61

As a master, he is patient and encouraging. He personally teaches Xu Bai spatial control, tests Xu Bai's beasts without seriously harming them, and openly takes pride in Xu Bai's rapid comprehension. 78 79 86

He can also be calculating and forceful in negotiations. When dealing with Dugu Bo, he and Xu Bai exploit the Poison Douluo's concern for his granddaughter to secure an agreement favorable to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. 105 106

Dugu Bo Negotiations

Bone Douluo accompanies Xu Bai to Tiandou City to confront Dugu Bo. He teaches Xu Bai to use superior power to suppress an opponent, helps force Dugu Bo into negotiations, and ensures an agreement under which Dugu Bo protects Xu Bai until Xu Bai becomes a Title Douluo. 104 105 106
