Deep within a hidden valley on the border of the Star Luo Empire, shrouded in miasma year-round.
Tens of thousands of Fallen Soul Masters had gathered here. The air was thick with blood, viciousness, and a faint undercurrent of unease.
Low conversations echoed between the cliff walls, filled with suppressed frustration and rage.
"Fucking hell! What drugs have those lunatics from Spirit Hall been taking lately? They're hunting us harder than ever!"
"Tell me about it! We used to be able to go around them, but now they come charging over the moment they catch our scent. We can't shake them off!"
"I heard something. It seems to be connected to the filthy rich Li Family in the Heaven Dou Empire."
"The Li Family? That absurdly wealthy Li Family?"
"Yeah, them. Apparently, the Li Family threw in with Spirit Hall not long ago."
"So what? Can money grow Soul Masters an extra soul ring or something?"
"What the hell do you know?" a sharp voice cut in.
"Since the Li Family joined them, Spirit Hall has never lacked money again! I heard they have more Gold Soul Coins than they can spend. They've built several new branch halls one after another, all specifically watching the places people like us frequent!"
Another person lowered his voice, but could not conceal the panic and greed within it. "That's not even the worst of it! I heard Pope Qian Xunji thought having too much money was a problem, so he directly put bounties on the heads of us Fallen Soul Masters!"
"The prices are clearly listed and based on rank... I secretly checked the bounty for someone at my level. Fuck, even I wanted to tie myself up and claim it!"
Heavy breathing and curses rose from the surrounding crowd.
These days, Fallen Soul Masters truly had it rough.
Not only had Spirit Hall's pursuit squads increased dramatically in number, but they were also well-equipped and coordinated. They pounced on Fallen Soul Masters like starving wolves spotting meat. Their reckless ferocity in battle was enough to chill even these fallen ones, who had spent their lives wallowing in bloodshed.
This was fucking what money could do. They had all gone insane for it!
At the deepest part of the valley stood a naturally formed black cavern.
Four figures radiating terrifying auras sat in a circle, while the air was so thick it seemed ready to drip blood.
They were the leaders of these Fallen Soul Masters, four beings at the level of Title Douluo.
The level ninety-four Blood Scythe Douluo had a gaunt, sinister face. His expression was now so gloomy it seemed water could be wrung from it. "This can't go on. Spirit Hall is pressing us step by step, and our territory is shrinking every day. If we retreat any further, we'll be on a dead end."
"Then we fight them!" The level ninety-three Magic Sword Douluo abruptly rose to his feet. Black energy surged around him, condensing into distorted phantasmal sword shapes.
"Either way, we die. We might as well drag enough of them down with us!"
"I agree." The level ninety-eight Blood Demon Douluo extended his scarlet, blood-red tongue and licked his blade-sharp nails. Bloodlust gleamed in his eyes.
"I've long wanted to taste the hot blood of those so-called righteous people... Maybe, with the feast of slaughter from this war, I can break through the bottleneck of level ninety-nine in one stroke."
After speaking, all three turned their eyes toward the figure seated deepest within the cavern, who had remained silent all along—level ninety-nine, the Necromancer Douluo.
He was the strongest among the Fallen Soul Masters of the present age and their pillar of support.
The Necromancer Douluo slowly opened his eyes. His blood-red pupils inspired fear in anyone who looked upon them.
He swept his gaze over the three of them, his hoarse voice like bones grinding together. "Fine."
"Either fade away in silence, or... raise a monstrous tide of blood." He paused, the killing intent around him flickering faintly.
"If we fight, we fight big. One blow must make Spirit Hall feel pain in its soul. Therefore, we need time to prepare."
"How long?" Blood Demon Douluo grinned, revealing a cruel, mocking smile.
The Necromancer Douluo fell silent for a moment, and the air in the cavern seemed to freeze with him.
"Two years." He slowly uttered the words, his voice carrying a metallic chill.
"During these two years, I will find a way to deal with Qian Daoliu."
The moment the name "Qian Daoliu" was spoken, the expressions of Blood Scythe, Magic Sword, and Blood Demon turned incomparably grim, their gloom mixed with deep fear and hatred.
"That damned birdman again!" Blood Scythe Douluo gritted out, his fingertips unconsciously scraping across the rock and leaving deep marks behind.
If not for the Angel Clan, if not for Qian Daoliu, then with the Fallen Soul Masters' ability to devour through slaughter and rapidly grow stronger, they only needed to drag the war into a battle of attrition. They would grow stronger with every fight, until this continent became their hunting ground.
Even Tang Chen, who was said to be invincible on land, was someone the Necromancer Douluo was confident he could defeat.
Only Qian Daoliu was the brightest and most troublesome wall of light standing before their ambitions.
All four of their martial souls were, to varying degrees, restrained by the supremely divine and holy Six-Winged Angel martial soul.
Once Qian Daoliu deployed the Angel Domain, their strength would be heavily suppressed. Even their devouring ability, which they relied upon to improve rapidly, would become sluggish and slow.
"I agree. It's only two years. I can wait." Blood Scythe Douluo was the first to state his position, his voice cold and sinister.
"Agreed." Magic Sword Douluo sat back down. The black energy around him receded, but his gaze remained sharp as a blade.
"So do I. These two years will be perfect for letting those brats below stockpile some more blood food and build up their strength." Blood Demon Douluo licked his lips, the bloody light in his eyes growing brighter.
The Necromancer Douluo said nothing more and merely nodded slightly.
After the three of them left in succession, the cavern returned to dead silence.
The Necromancer Douluo slowly rose. His body drifted like a weightless ghostly shadow out of the cavern, appearing atop a solitary cliff on one side of the valley.
The night sky was black as ink. Only a single pale moon hung high above, pouring its cold light over the silent mountains and the thin, blood-colored mist permeating the valley.
The Necromancer Douluo raised his head and "looked" toward the moon. No moonlight reflected in his blood-red eyes; there was only cold emptiness.
He slowly raised a hand as gaunt as a ghost's claw and, through his black robe, gently pressed it against his chest.
Beneath his clothes lay a savage sword scar that had only just healed, still carrying a faint remnant of holy energy.
Decades ago, he had been high-spirited when he challenged the two strongest people on the continent at the time—Qian Daoliu and Tang Chen.
In his battle against Tang Chen, he had relied on the Necromancy Domain to greatly restrict Tang Chen's exquisite Self-Created Soul Skills, ultimately defeating him.
But in his battle against Qian Daoliu... the instant his Necromancy Domain unfolded, it was completely suppressed by the Angel Domain, radiant as a blazing sun and capable of purifying all evil.
With his domain countered and his Soul Power circulation sluggish, he had suffered a clean and crushing defeat. The sword scar on his chest, which had nearly torn him apart, was the eternal mark and symbol of humiliation Qian Daoliu had left behind.
The night wind howled, whipping the hem of his black robe with a sharp flutter.
"Qian Daoliu..." His hoarse whisper drifted into the night with the wind, carrying endless coldness and resolute killing intent.
"That sword strike you left behind... soon, I will repay it a hundredfold, a thousandfold."
Under the pale moonlight, his solitary figure atop the cliff seemed to merge with the bottomless dark valley beneath him, brewing a blood-colored storm that would soon sweep across the continent.
