Personality

Qian Xunji is politically shrewd, opportunistic, and strongly conscious of prestige. He exploits crises, public ceremonies, and scarce resources to expand Spirit Hall’s influence, including planning to distribute whale glue in controlled batches to preserve scarcity and leverage. 10 98

He is also acutely aware of Spirit Hall’s material needs. Early in his tenure as Pope, the immense cost of maintaining Spirit Hall’s large force of spirit masters left him overwhelmed by financial reports, making the Li Family’s revenue agreement especially valuable to him. 9 13

He can be severe and intimidating toward subordinates. When a cardinal questioned Bibi Dong’s dangerous Martial Souls, Qian Xunji responded with freezing pressure and argued that power is neither inherently good nor evil; the wielder’s will determines its use. 91

Despite his vanity and temper, he shows genuine protectiveness toward Bibi Dong. He personally accepted her as a disciple, supported her soul-ring absorption, and became visibly anxious when she faced Lu Xueqi in battle. 91 96 132 133

The chosen beast nonetheless proves highly suitable: Bibi Dong reaches level sixty-three and obtains an External Soul Bone consisting of six purple membrane wings, prompting Qian Xunji's shock and pride. 210 213

Growing Rift with Bibi Dong

Qian Xunji’s expectations for Bibi Dong harden as her cultivation becomes less diligent and her private discussions with Yu Xiaogang continue. Divine Interference Crisis

After Douluo Planet's ascension raises the world's limits, Qian Daoliu reaches the ranks of level-one-hundred experts and becomes able to detect an abnormal influence in Bibi Dong.
