The Li Family rose from a small border-town clan into a commercial power over roughly a decade. Zhang Qingxuan, the adopted son of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing, drove several foundational business decisions: he proposed chain stores at age seven, built the family’s commercial reputation at ten, and integrated shipping at thirteen, eventually controlling thirty percent of Heaven Dou City’s freight traffic 12.

Zhang Qingxuan first appeared on Douluo Planet as an infant after being sent there from another world by the divine Green Ox. He was subsequently adopted by Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing, who concealed his extraordinary cultivation and background while raising him as their son 1 2 28.

Before establishing their household, Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing fled the Break Clan after eloping. While being pursued, they were sheltered by a farming couple surnamed Lin, whose aid allowed them to survive and later became the basis for the Li Family’s lasting connection to the Lin Family 22 95.

By the time of its conflict with the Clear Sky Sect, the family’s industries extended across both empires and covered essential trades including silk, grain, pharmacies, and blacksmithing. Its shops accounted for more than thirty percent of Heaven Dou City’s businesses, while its wealth was described as sufficient to affect Spirit Hall’s finances for a decade 12.

The Clear Sky Sect targeted the family after Yang Wanqing’s former connection to its affiliate, the Break Clan, became a pretext for demands over an external spirit bone. Although Li Yuntian and Zhang Qingxuan repelled Tang Zhen, Yang Wanqing opposed escalating the conflict because retaliation from Tang Chen could endanger the entire family 4 6.

The Clear Sky Sect subsequently used covert commercial attacks—destroying shops, burning warehouses, and harassing merchants—to weaken the family without launching an open assault 11. One report recorded seven smashed shops, three burned warehouses, and eleven guards injured or killed; intelligence also suggested possible Break Clan involvement 10. In response, the Li Family joined Spirit Hall, surrendering sixty percent of its future revenue in exchange for protection and time to develop 12.

Following the agreement, the family withdrew businesses and personnel from Heaven Dou City. Its employees remained loyal enough to destroy immovable assets rather than leave them to hostile forces 12. Qianjun Douluo and Jiangmo Douluo arrived to assist during the withdrawal, which included merchants’ families, account books, goods, and product samples 12. The family later transferred most of its business directly to Spirit Hall, retaining only select operations, including the Whale Glue trade, to support its household and cultivation needs 36.

The family’s resources and goodwill also helped it endure later regional turmoil. Merchants continued to support the Li Family even at personal loss, while its remaining commercial network expanded into services such as high-priced medical treatment for wounded soul masters 69 85. The Clear Sky Sect ultimately ordered its members not to provoke the Li Family or Zhang Qingxuan, formally declaring their prior grievances settled 106.

The Heaven Dou Imperial Family had also attempted to obtain a share of the family’s commercial network. After the Li Family refused, the imperial household secretly targeted its businesses and joined the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect in a commercial siege. The support of merchants willing to accept losses helped prevent the family’s collapse, although the experience left Li Yingxue and Xiao Bai deeply resentful toward the imperial family 69.

After relocating to Martial Soul City, the household maintained its influence through branches, hidden retainers, and cultivation support for its central members. It also preserved a private orange grove outside the city as Zhang Qingxuan’s personal sanctuary and later maintained close ties with several adopted or affiliated individuals 44 48 54 186. Spirit Hall granted the household an independent courtyard in the inner city after it joined the organization 21.

When Zhang Qingxuan established Dragon Tiger Mountain and founded the Celestial Master Mansion, he left Spirit Hall to lead his own faction. The Li Family itself remained within Spirit Hall, a distinction explicitly noted by Tang Li when the Clear Sky Sect discussed the separation 153.

By the household reunion in Chapter 367, its central members had advanced substantially: Li Yuntian was a level 97 Super Douluo, Yang Wanqing was a level 92 Titled Douluo, and Li Yingxue was a level 96 Super Douluo 367.

Commerce and Influence

Xiao Bai personally helped establish the Blazing Fire City branch and negotiated an important trade route with the Fire Family. Her standing there was recognized by the Fire Family’s personnel, while Huo Zhenshan and Shui Canglan treated Li Yingxue’s family background with considerable respect 48 49.

The intelligence network also supported the protection of traveling family members. After recognizing Li Yingxue, Li Le immediately reported her whereabouts through secret channels, received Li Yuntian’s instructions, and prepared a dossier on her Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan opponent for Xiao Bai 45.

Known Members and Retainers

• Li Yuntian — Family Head; a Titled Douluo who led the family’s defense, commercial transfer, and eventual break with his blood relatives. Following his Martial Soul evolution, his Martial Soul became the Super Martial Soul Golden Flame Sky-Severing Sword, and his Soul Power reached level 93 5 36 38 66. He later reached level 97 as a Super Douluo 367.
• Yang Wanqing — Li Yuntian’s wife and mistress of the Li Family; formerly connected to the Break Clan and a key reason the Clear Sky Sect attempted to assert control over the household. Her evolved Martial Soul is the Divine Wind Swallow, which awakened the Ultimate Wind attribute 4 11 66. Formerly an agility-attack Soul Douluo, she later became a level 92 Titled Douluo 49 367.

He later became the family’s principal source of cultivation guidance and protection. • Li Yingxue — Biological daughter of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing; the family’s eldest young lady. Her Martial Soul evolved into the Super Martial Soul Red Sun Golden Feather Swallow 2 49 66. After practicing the Fire Virtue Yang Qi Art, she awakened the Ultimate Fire attribute, advanced to the Soul Ancestor realm, and later reached level 55 as a Battle Soul King before the age of twenty 21 43 52 108. Martial Soul Evolution

Zhang Qingxuan provided Li Yuntian, Yang Wanqing, Li Yingxue, and Xiao Bai with Creation Pills intended to elevate their Martial Souls and bloodlines. The resulting transformations substantially strengthened the household’s core combat power 65 66.

Before his evolution, Li Yuntian’s Green Fire Sword had already been strengthened through a high-quality ninth soul ring from a Red Flame Tiger King, causing his flames to develop a faint cyan-gold luster 4. Yang Wanqing and Li Yingxue likewise developed unusual elemental power through the cultivation methods Zhang Qingxuan provided, with Li Yingxue’s Fire Virtue Yang Qi Art awakening her Ultimate Fire 24 52.

The family’s cultivation resources also enabled Li Yingxue to overcome the limitations of her original innate level-eight Soul Power. Her rapid rise was attributed to Zhang Qingxuan’s techniques, the family’s resources, and her own increasingly refined combat ability 21 43 108.

The household’s restricted techniques included the Nine Yang Divine Skill for Li Yuntian, the Nine Yin Manual for Yang Wanqing, and the Fire Virtue Yang Qi Art for Li Yingxue. Zhang Qingxuan warned that spreading them could attract covetous attention even from within Spirit Hall 24. Xiao Bai cultivated the Cold Ice Art, which complemented her Ultimate Ice and helped regulate her meridians during her renewed cultivation 52 67.

Li Yingxue’s fourth Soul Ring came from a nine-thousand-seven-hundred-year-old Fire Cloud Sparrow selected by Yang Wanqing. Although the family possessed Whale Glue, its physical benefits did not resolve the spiritual shock associated with absorbing a ten-thousand-year ring 43. After the Creation Pill raised her Soul Power by seven levels and further cultivation brought her to level 50, she defeated a thirty-thousand-year Blazing Fire Bird as the source of her next ring; Zhang Qingxuan judged her foundation sufficient to absorb it despite its exceeding the usual limit 67.

Not all of Zhang Qingxuan’s teachings were equally accessible to family members. He shared the first-level formula of the Sutra of Innate Qi and Mortal Shedding with Li Yingxue when she asked to learn it, but she could not comprehend its profound contents 111. Qian Xunji later observed that her evolving flames were approaching the Qian Family’s Angel Holy Flame and speculated that fully mastering her cultivation method might eventually influence her Martial Soul’s essence or produce divine-grade flames 186.

Xiyue later assessed Xiao Bai as capable of attempting First-Level Godhood, while judging that Li Yingxue would probably reach Second-Level Godhood without further help. She stated that Zhang Qingxuan could help Li Yingxue obtain First-Level Godhood, but that her comprehension remained a personal limitation. These were assessments of future potential rather than confirmations of attained godhood 342.

Power Progression

Spirit Hall Alliance

The alliance began when Qian Xunji personally offered the Li Family Spirit Hall’s protection amid the Clear Sky Sect’s commercial pressure. Li Yuntian initially negotiated with the Pope, while Zhang Qingxuan advocated conceding revenue as the price of security and future growth 11 12.

Qian Xunji initially requested forty percent of the family’s business, but Zhang Qingxuan voluntarily offered sixty percent. The Pope’s proposed protections included permanent Soul Sage-level guards for the businesses and assistance from regional branch halls, alongside the prospect of Li Yuntian entering the Elder Palace 11. Zhang Qingxuan explained that the family’s wealth exceeded its ability to defend itself and that sacrificing excess income would buy time to strengthen its foundations 12.

To demonstrate its commitment, the family also provided Spirit Hall with the Method of Absorbing Over-Limit Spirit Rings 13. Its contribution substantially strengthened Spirit Hall’s financial position, leading Qian Xunji to bestow the title of Martial Soul Hall Protector upon Li Yuntian 73.

The Li Family’s wealth enabled Spirit Hall to expand branch halls, finance reconstruction, and intensify its suppression of Fallen Soul Masters through bounty programs. Its economic support was widely regarded as a major factor in resolving Spirit Hall’s financial difficulties 23 73.

The family’s contribution went beyond money. Its cultivation methods and unusual success in improving Martial Souls attracted sustained interest from Spirit Hall’s senior officials, who regarded Zhang Qingxuan as the likely source of the family’s extraordinary rise 28 61 107 186.

The household’s affiliation survived Zhang Qingxuan’s departure to establish the Celestial Master Mansion 153. Its continuing proximity to Spirit Hall also made its unusual cultivation increasingly difficult to conceal: Zhang Qingxuan acknowledged that Li Yuntian’s rapid progress and pure-yang Soul Power would naturally attract Qian Xunji’s attention 179.

Relations were not without friction. After Yun Qingyang was crippled in an ambush, Qian Xunji ordered a list of families connected to Fallen Soul Masters sent to the Li Family. Zhang Qingxuan rejected the list as an inadequate answer to Spirit Hall’s failure to maintain surveillance over those families 141 142.

Separation from the Li Clan

Li Yuntian’s blood relatives were distinct from the Li Yuntian-led household recognized publicly as the Li Family. When Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing were fugitives, these clansmen avoided them and aided the Break Clan by exposing their whereabouts 37 38.

After the family prospered, the clansmen exploited their connection to Li Yuntian to take bribes, oppress merchants and commoners, abduct women, and otherwise act lawlessly in Spirit City 37 38. Li Yuntian refused to intervene when Spirit Hall punished them, having already disowned them 37.

The surviving clansmen appealed directly to Li Yuntian after arrests and executions began, but he rejected their plea and formally severed all ties with the Li clan 38. The clan patriarch later fled Spirit City with his remaining people after their expulsion 39.

Before their final appeal, a faction of the clansmen staged a public protest at Spirit Hall’s gates, using children and accusations of ingratitude to attract sympathy. Spirit Hall publicly read out their crimes and their earlier betrayal of Li Yuntian, turning the crowd against them before arresting the protesters 37 38.

Li Yuntian nevertheless distinguished Li Yunruo from the clansmen responsible for the household’s past persecution. As his biological younger sister had not participated in their betrayal, Yang Wanqing accepted Li Yunruo and her adopted daughter, Li Changyue, into the Li Family residence 222 244. Li Yingxue likewise accepted the pair, explicitly distinguishing them from the corrupt clansmen who had harmed her parents 244.

Li Yunruo asked that Changyue be taken in and taught cultivation rather than raised in the clan’s cold environment. Yang Wanqing intervened to welcome them, recognizing that Li Yuntian’s affection for his sister had already softened his response 222. The later explanation to Li Yingxue clarified that Li Yunruo had left the clan, adopted Changyue, and lived under an assumed identity 244.

Family Relationships and Later Affairs

The Lin Family’s earlier rescue of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing led to a drunken marriage promise between the two households. Because Lin Meng'er and Li Yingxue were both girls, Yang Wanqing later treated the promise as invalid while formally adopting Lin Meng'er as the Li Family’s goddaughter 22 94 95.

Yang Wanqing and Li Yingxue explicitly maintained that the promise concerned a biological son of Li Yuntian and Yang Wanqing, not the adopted Zhang Qingxuan. Lin Meng'er accepted the distinction and formally greeted Zhang Qingxuan as her elder brother. Yang Wanqing’s position also reflected her awareness of Li Yingxue’s romantic feelings for him 95.

The family’s household remained closely centered on Zhang Qingxuan. Li Yuntian gradually came to regard him not merely as a prodigy or adopted heir, but as a true son after Zhang addressed him familiarly as “old man” while promising to protect the family 12. Zhang’s returns to the family residence were marked by his continued affection for Li Yingxue, Xiao Bai, and the other members of the household 176 186.

Li Yuntian also remained involved in wider political and cultivation affairs. Ning Fengzhi once helped defuse renewed tension between him and Tang Zhen, while Li Yuntian recognized Lu Xueqi’s exceptional talent and dedication to Zhang Qingxuan 130. The family continued to receive relatives and affiliated individuals at its Spirit City residence, including Li Yunruo and Li Changyue 222 244.

The Orange Grove served as both Zhang Qingxuan’s retreat and a place for receiving cultivation-related visitors. He explained to Chen Jianjun that he planted orange trees in memory of an old friend who had saved his life 166. Its defenses included disorienting fragrant fog and a golden protective formation: Jin Feng’s destruction of a tree triggered restraints that bound him while leaving Jin Ting unharmed 54 55.

During one homecoming, Yang Wanqing prepared a family feast, and Zhang Qingxuan explained that he intended to travel across the continent in search of the remaining metal-, fire-, and earth-associated innate divine materials, having already obtained the water and wood materials 176.

Li Yingxue increasingly spent her time at Dragon Tiger Mountain rather than at the family residence, prompting affectionate complaints from Yang Wanqing 222. She and Xiao Bai also represented the interests of the Celestial Master Mansion in negotiations with the Water Family, giving its members priority because of past business dealings while rejecting attempts to use that goodwill as bargaining leverage 204 205.

At a later reunion, Li Yingxue returned to Spirit City with Snow Empress and Yun Lingyue. The household received them, and Li Yingxue shared Spirit Hall’s information on the powers attending the New Seven Great Sects ranking 244.

The family’s dependence on Zhang Qingxuan’s assistance remained acknowledged in later cultivation discussions. When Xiyue described Li Yingxue’s fortune as deriving from him, Li Yingxue reflected that his commercial insight, techniques, and medicinal formulas had enabled both the family’s immense holdings and her parents’ breakthroughs 342.

Li Yuntian maintained a private collection of savings, treasured wines, and teas. Li Yingxue had already taken more than half of his hidden money during an earlier visit; on a later return, she and Xiao Bai entered his secret store while selecting gifts, much to his alarm 244 366. During that visit, Li Yingxue’s description of herself as “merely” a level 96 Super Douluo astonished both parents, who were themselves level 97 and level 92 respectively 367.
