Background / History

Ten thousand years before the main story, the family’s most brilliant ancestor, Leng Hanyuan, established an ancestral instruction: “Ten thousand years hence, the Ancestor shall awaken!” He constructed an ice-attribute secret chamber and sealed himself within it, intending to return in an era free from the Tang God King’s surveillance and pursue godhood. The instruction, the ancestral ground’s access authorization, and the secret were passed only between successive family heads. 1

By the time Leng Yaozhu became family head, the Phoenix Family was the second-ranked family within the Spirit Transmission Pagoda, behind the Qiangu Family. Following the ancestral instruction, Yaozhu entered the sealed ancestral ground and awakened Leng Hanyuan from his Ice Coffin. 1 2

The family’s senior members initially rejected the claim that the youthful Leng Hanyuan was their ten-thousand-year-old ancestor. His public display of quasi-god strength, combined with ancestral portraits from the family vault, convinced them. Leng Hanyuan subsequently became the core of the family’s leadership. 5

Under Leng Hanyuan’s direction, the Phoenix Family challenged the Qiangu Family’s dominance within the Spirit Transmission Pagoda, recruited Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua, and gained major influence across the Federation.
