Background & History

Qiangu Dongfeng led the Qiangu Family as it tightened its control over the Spirit Transmission Pagoda. The family’s influence was checked by several older Pagoda families, foremost among them the Phoenix Family. He pursued Leng Yaozhu both out of personal affection and because winning her over could bring the Phoenix Family under his influence. 2

Leng Hanyuan’s sudden appearance beside Leng Yaozhu immediately threatened both of Dongfeng’s aims. Dongfeng confronted the pair under the pretext of questioning an outsider’s access to the Pagoda, but was overwhelmed when Leng Hanyuan’s Ice Crystal Profound Phoenix aura suppressed his Coiling Dragon martial soul. He withdrew with forced politeness after realizing their disparity. 3

Humiliated, Dongfeng destroyed items in his office before reporting the encounter to his father, Qiangu Dieting. Although he prioritized the Qiangu Family’s interests over his wounded pride in front of his father, he remained deeply alarmed by the Phoenix Family’s new quasi-god. 4

At the Spirit Transmission Pagoda’s core meeting, Dongfeng opposed Leng Hanyuan’s admission to the organization’s core layer, fearing further erosion of Qiangu Family control.
