Ye Sheng is the only child of the Night Family's main branch. As a girl in a family shaped by strict rules, status, and political expectations, she endured pressure over succession and a possible political marriage. Her father, the former leader of the Night Bureau, was absent from her life; learning of his connection to Night Battles and the Bureau became a defining part of her childhood. 128 476 1059

She grew up close to Hua Ling and Shui Lianxin, taking a protective role toward the younger Lianxin. In her school years, Ye Sheng was cold, disciplined, and focused almost entirely on meeting her family's expectations. 476 866
