Foundation and Government
Konoha was founded by Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara three days after their graduation battle with Otsutsuki Yuhao. Built in the most advantageous central region of the Land of Fire, its main urban area covered roughly 40 million square meters and occupied a major north–south transportation route. 42
The alliance of the Senju and Uchiha immediately drew the Hyuga, Aburame, Inuzuka, Akimichi, Nara, Yamanaka, and Sarutobi clans, followed by numerous smaller ninja clans and ordinary residents. Hashirama became the First Hokage, while Madara became the First Deputy Hokage. 42

History
Founding era
Hashirama and Madara established Konoha to end the warfare of the Land of Fire. Their alliance, backed by their reputations as the God of Shinobi and Shinobi Asura, suppressed rival clans and created the first ninja village in the Ninja World. 42
Hashirama used Wood Release to rapidly create homes and shops, turning the new village into a peaceful settlement where civilians could work, travel, and raise children free from the clan warfare that had preceded Konoha. 43
Konoha’s model was quickly emulated across the continent. Sunagakure, Kirigakure, Kumogakure, and Iwagakure were founded within a month, beginning a broader era of ceasefires between the great nations. 43
First Ninja World War and the Five Kage Summit
In Konoha Year 4, war erupted among the other four great nations. Hashirama refused to remain neutral, arguing that Konoha’s strength carried a responsibility to protect children from war even beyond the Land of Fire. 46
Rather than mobilize the village’s full military, Hashirama dispatched himself, Madara, Tobirama, and Izuna—four Super Kage-level fighters—to stop the conflict while Konoha’s clans remained behind to defend the village. 46
The resulting Five Kage Summit was held in Konoha. The Tailed Beasts were distributed among the major villages to preserve a balance of power: Konoha retained the Nine-Tails, while the other beasts were allocated to Kumogakure, Kirigakure, Iwagakure, Sunagakure, and Takigakure. 49
Wars and technological development
Konoha’s scientific technology became a major strategic target during the Second Ninja World War. The other nations sought the technological advancements that Tobirama and Izuna had brought back from the Sage Art Continent, while much of the fighting unfolded in the Land of Rain. 65
In Konoha Year 50, the return of Hashirama, Madara, Tobirama, Izuna, and Yuhao deterred the great nations from continuing the Third Ninja World War. Hiruzen then convened another Five Kage Summit in the Land of Fire, ending the war and preventing the Battle of Kannabi Bridge from occurring in this timeline. 65 66
Modern era
Konoha becomes increasingly prosperous and densely populated, with a thriving gourmet street and Ichiraku Ramen serving as a meeting place for multiple generations of shinobi. 75
The village’s Chunin Exams attract exceptional young ninja known throughout the world as the Konoha 12, but the event is attacked by Lunshi, Yede, and Baikao—cyborgs connected to Black Zetsu’s experiments on Yuhao’s descendants. 76 78 80
Konoha repeatedly becomes the focal point of Six Paths-level conflicts, including assaults by Code, Isshiki, and other Ōtsutsuki-related forces. Its defenders combine Sage Arts, dōjutsu, barriers, fusion techniques, and coordinated formations to protect the village. 153 154 158 172
Defenses and Military Strength
- Founders’ legacy — Hashirama, Madara, Tobirama, and Izuna remain among Konoha’s defining protectors; their continued survival deters other nations from provoking the village. 65 72
- Five Tiger Generals of Konoha — Itachi, Shisui, Obito, Kakashi, and Might Guy coordinate their specialized abilities against Six Paths-level threats. 129
- Six Paths Eight Trigrams Formation — Obito, Itachi, Kakashi, and Tsunade use this barrier formation to seal an arena and prevent hostile Ōtsutsuki from escaping. 158
- Fusion Technique — Konoha fighters can merge their power through the Fusion Dance; Naruto and Tobirama’s fusion, Six Paths Narusuke, reached half-step Sixth Stage strength. 172
- Sage Art cultivation — Sage Arts spread by Yuhao and the increase of natural energy dramatically raise the Ninja World’s overall strength, with Konoha producing a particularly large concentration of Kage- and Six Paths-level shinobi. 212
