Background

Number Four entered the Resident Evil world without a system-issued objective. Calling himself a mercenary, he joined Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield on their route to Raccoon City, accepted Claire's request to help locate Chris Redfield, and initially sought missions whose rewards might transfer back to the original body. 168

After witnessing Leon's chakra interact with T-Virus infection, Number Four shifted his focus toward experimentation. He taught Leon, Claire, and Marvin chakra refinement, then deliberately infected Leon to determine whether a virus-altered body could produce a distinct form of chakra. The result was Virus Chakra, a black-mist-like chakra generated through the interaction of T-Virus alterations, physical energy, and spiritual energy. 171 172 173

His research escalated from Lickers to Tyrants, G-William, and the Pursuer. He refined Virus Chakra within captured bio-organic weapons, created Evolutionary Zombies and Zombie Crystal Cores, and stored valuable specimens in his personal Kamui Dimension. 174 180 182 191

Following the incident, he intended to spread Corpse Release cultivation as a means of improving humanity's resistance to biohazards while using Evolutionary Zombies and Zombie Crystal Cores as a long-term resource source. Number Four is calm, observant, and highly confident in situations that terrify ordinary survivors. He treats Raccoon City's outbreak as both a crisis and an opportunity for research, freely capturing dangerous B.O.W.s and altering their evolution to collect data. 172 174 181

He saves people who accept his help, heals individuals such as Marvin and Jill, and establishes a biohazard-response organization, but he refuses to waste effort on survivors who reject his warnings.
