Background

Megumi is a member of the Mochizuki Clan, a family whose business is the Beast Taming Group, which handles animal-related work including capture, trading, and training. She is Shota’s younger sister and Rin’s younger sister. 12 46 53

At the academy’s team assignment, Megumi searched for the person known as “Zhao Yun Zilong” and initially treated Zeyu dismissively, unaware that he was the person she sought. She was assigned to Team 11 alongside Zeyu and Shota under newly promoted jōnin Kiyoko Nana. 11 12

During Nana’s bell test, Megumi coordinated with Shota while using Wind Style to pressure their teacher. Zeyu ultimately seized both bells, making Megumi realize the extent of his strength. 12

Personality

Megumi is blunt, proud, and quick to voice her displeasure. She regularly mocks Shota’s recklessness, challenges Zeyu’s decisions, and is especially suspicious when she believes Zeyu is taking advantage of Hinata. 13 26 54 59

Despite her abrasive manner, she is protective and considerate. She intervenes to save Shota from hidden attacks, tends to Hinata’s hair and comfort, and insists that Hinata tell her if Zeyu ever mistreats her. 22 36 59

Megumi is highly competitive and dislikes being left behind. Seeing Shota improve under Zeyu’s guidance motivates her to apologize and ask for training herself. She seeks Zeyu’s approval after defeating Shota in the Chūnin Exam preliminaries, though she tries to hide how pleased she is by his praise. 15 39
