"Shendu, was Zhong Su's escape really your doing?" Hsi Wu asked coldly.

"I told you, it wasn't. Hsi Wu, my dear brother, look at me now. Do I seem capable of freeing our brothers and sisters?" Shendu said with utmost sincerity.

"Heh. I've lost count of how many times I've heard your lies," Hsi Wu sneered, not believing him at all.

Yet he was genuinely puzzled. Shendu's current state really didn't look like he could open the Demon Gate. So what had happened?

Had Zhong Su also found a rift in space?

Hsi Wu decided to ask him.

He stared mockingly at the statue and taunted, "Shendu, what do you think Zhong Su would do if I told him where you're hiding? Would he come over and give you a little punishment?"

Bibi Dong frowned, then entered the secret chamber in confusion.

"What is it, Shendu?" she asked coldly.

"How is the Talisman search going?"

Bibi Dong replied expressionlessly, "There's been no progress. Our people haven't found any trace of the Talismans."

"Useless! With so many people in Spirit Hall, you can't even find one Talisman?" Shendu pretended to be angry and scolded her loudly.

Bibi Dong was used to this by now and calmly explained, "Spirit Hall has many people, but most of them have their own duties and can't be reassigned. The Worship Hall is keeping an eye on us, too, so I don't have many people I can use..."

"Enough," Shendu interrupted her.

"I'll give you the Sky Demon's location. Go capture him. It would be best if you could become the Second Worship and gain greater authority. I need my Talismans as soon as possible."

Bibi Dong was a little surprised, but nodded and left.
