Background / History

Spirit Transmission Academy was established north of Seven Treasures City on land formerly occupied by rolling hills and forest. Its campus appeared suddenly and was built on a scale larger than Seven Treasures City itself. The Seven Treasure Glazed Sect funded the academy in full and staffed it with sect personnel, following the sect's decision to affiliate with it. 12 13

Gu An initially left its daily affairs to Ning Qingyun and Wu Yunshan while he pursued other goals. He intended for the academy to establish its name through Shrek Academy's freshman assessment. 18

The academy received the Spirit Pagoda when Gu An transported it into a reserved lot within the grounds. Its arrival enabled the academy to provide Soul Spirits, forming the institution's central technological advantage. 41 42

Early recruitment produced only a few dozen local students, most with ordinary talent, as the academy was unfamiliar and its conflict with Shrek had not been publicized. Tang Qi became its first locally recruited student described as a true genius. 44 As the Spirit Pagoda opened and its reputation grew, the academy began attracting more students, although public trust initially remained below that enjoyed by Shrek Academy. 76

Campus

The academy is a walled city-like complex larger than Seven Treasures City, surrounded by smooth gray-white walls with watchtowers placed at one-hundred-meter intervals. Each tower is topped by a soul-guiding crystal. 13

The pagoda houses Soul Spirits in glowing orbs for prospective contracts. Soul Spirits may originate from voluntarily sacrificed Soul Beasts or from Soul Beasts subjected to special extraction methods. 43
