Background / History

Sasuke was introduced to Chuan Yu after Fugaku adopted Chuan Yu into the Uchiha family. Though initially resistant to the new brother, he became part of a close household with Itachi, Chuan Yu, Fugaku, and Mikoto. Itachi promised to protect both younger boys. 2

As a child, Sasuke trained and competed with Chuan Yu. Chuan Yu defended him from Itachi's crow attack during their training, while Sasuke showed eagerness to learn stronger techniques. 8

Following the conflict between the Uchiha and Konoha, Itachi subjected Sasuke to Tsukuyomi, trapping him in repeated visions of his clan being slaughtered and his parents dying. Sasuke survived the ordeal but became obsessed with gaining strength. 25 26

Chuan Yu became harsh and emotionally distant toward Sasuke after Itachi's departure, striking and belittling him during training while privately still caring deeply about him. Sasuke interpreted this treatment as further proof of his own weakness. 26 31

Personality

Sasuke is competitive from childhood, initially engaging Chuan Yu in playful sibling rivalry and immediately clashing with Naruto on their first day at the academy. 7 27
