History

Primordial Wilderness and Division

Before antiquity, the Immortal World and Mortal World were parts of the thirty-three realms of the Primordial Wilderness. The present Nine Heavens and Ten Earths formed from fragments of that shattered primordial world. 579 666

In the final battle of the Primordial Wilderness era, the world split in two. The Immortal World's Nine Heavens and Ten Earths remained in the original starry region, while the Mortal World was blasted away to the junction between the Immortal World and Netherworld planes. 666

Ancient Rulers

• The Ancient Gods Clan were regarded in legend as the original inhabitants and rulers of the Immortal World before their decline. 113

Ancient Suppression

The City Lord of All Beings suppressed numerous ancient sects and powerful immortals, leaving the Immortal World weakened. He also created a vast barrier that suppresses immortals above the Po Kong realm across the Immortal World and its associated worlds. 685

The City Lord's later plans involved opening the Heavenly Court Palace, summoning the City of All Beings, and breaking the shackles restraining the Immortal World—an act expected to release ancient suppressed experts and destroy the existing powers of the Nine Great Heaven Palaces, Ten Lands, and three immortal seas. 607 616

City of All Beings Barrier

The Immortal World is protected by a barrier left by the City Lord of All Beings. It prevents Heavenly Realm immortals from entering at full strength unless they completely seal their cultivation. 690 663

Outer Realm Invasion

After being sealed for 300,000 years, the Outer Realm Battlefield is breached when the Mad Demon God-Confounding Grand Barrier begins to tear apart. Po Kong Heavenly Devils invade through the rift and threaten the Heavenly Gates. 672
