Izuna is Uchiha Madara's younger brother and Uchiha Yang's cousin. From Yang's early years in the compound, Izuna shared Madara's concern that Yang's inability to become a ninja had left him directionless. He urged Yang to pursue samurai cultivation and relayed Madara's offer to provide training methods and forge a weapon for him. 1

During the Uzumaki raid on the Uchiha compound, Izuna fought beside Madara and sustained numerous wounds.
