Background / History

The Sharingan is one of Uchiha Yang's autonomous body parts. Before Yang realizes his body is acting independently, it trains on its own and promises to grow strong enough for him to obtain the Mangekyou Sharingan. During the attack on the Uchiha compound, it eagerly takes control of Yang's sight, locks onto targets, and urges the rest of his body to fight. 1 2

Its early goal is singular: acquire the Three-Tomoe Sharingan through combat and stimulation. It reaches two tomoe during the raid, then awakens its third tomoe amid the destruction caused by Uzumaki Jiusen's sealing scroll. 2 4 Yang's later emotional response to the massacre of Uchiha children causes the Sharingan to evolve into Mangekyou. 6

As a Mangekyou, it develops Nightmare World, an illusion technique used to drive Black Zetsu away. The technique's heavy ocular-power consumption leaves its vision blurred, reinforcing the danger of repeated Mangekyou use. 27 28

Personality

The Sharingan is aggressive, competitive, and obsessed with becoming stronger. It repeatedly demands more enemies, more killing, and greater stimulation to advance its tomoe. During the Uchiha compound raid, it wants to “dye the clan grounds red” and dismisses elite jonin as insignificant once it reaches Three-Tomoe. 2 5

It frequently bickers with the Brain, Hands, Legs, and elemental affinities, but it can recognize useful plans and cooperate when necessary. It is notably sensitive about its status as Yang's eyes and reacts defensively when accused of being reckless or perverted. 6 12 16
