Background / History

While observing Earth from the Supreme Kai World, Old Supreme Kai senses an unprecedented god-like energy following Jiang Che's battle with Baby. He immediately rejects Kibito Kai's assumption that it is ordinary Saiyan ki and uses a crystal ball to investigate its source. 24

He identifies Jiang Che's undetectable energy as god ki, explains that mortals cannot perceive it, and recognizes Jiang Che as the legendary Super Saiyan God described in ancient texts. Believing Jiang Che's arrival may change the universe's fate, he orders Kibito Kai to bring him to the Supreme Kai World. 25 28

Old Supreme Kai personally tests Jiang Che's claim by demanding that he transform. After witnessing the Super Saiyan God form, he honors a negotiated agreement to teach Jiang Che Instant Transmission. 29 30 31

During Jiang Che's training, Old Supreme Kai instructs him to sense ki through its “temperature, weight, and vibration frequency.” Jiang Che masters short-range transmission within a week and unrestricted long-distance transmission after half a month. 32
