Believe in Chun Ge and Pass the Exam
Hermione became Tom's teacher, a rare occurrence for the little witch, who was overjoyed and wanted to drag Tom along every day to experience what it was like to be a teacher.
Tom couldn't bear the suffering alone, so he immediately called on Daphne as well, and so the torture masks were put on both of their faces.
Daphne got angry with Tom more times this week than she did in the entire previous semester.
The atmosphere in the castle grew increasingly tense. Several students had already developed hysteria and were taken to the Hospital Wing, where Madam Pomfrey had to give them a large bottle of Calming Draught to calm them down.
Most of these students are returning fifth and seventh graders who will be participating in OWLs and NEWTs.
The other grades were alright, but the library was packed with people, and you could even hear students walking briskly in the corridors while silently chanting spells, as if they had encountered Dementor.
The day before the exam, Tom received a reply from Newt Scamander.
The old man's joy was palpable in the letter, both for Tom's success in taming the unicorn and for his delight at his discovery.
Newt Scamander invites Tom to New York so the two can have a more in-depth conversation, and he can provide round-trip airfare if needed.
Tom thought for a moment and didn't reply immediately. He wasn't sure if he had time to go to New York, or if it was even necessary.
It's not too late to make a decision after the third trial is completed and we see what the new trial content is.
The exam began on the second day.
The first-grade exam wasn't difficult, but the answers were tedious and lacked any substance.
Tom hadn't written this much by hand in a long time; he usually used magic to control his quill. After an exam, his hand was so sore he could barely lift it.
The practical part was much easier; McGonagall's test involved turning a mouse into a snuff bottle.
This involves the difficulty of Transfiguration living things, but it's about turning living things into inanimate objects, which is among the easiest levels of difficulty.
Going further up, it involves giving life to inanimate objects and turning them into living things; even more difficult is the transformation between different organisms.
Tom successfully completed the test. Although Professor McGonagall remained expressionless, Tom still noticed a slight upturn at the corners of her mouth before she left.
Flitwick's exam was even simpler; he only needed to control a pear to tap-dance across a desk.
Tom used a cherry as a basketball, and Pear dribbled the ball while singing and dancing as she walked across the table, finally finishing with a cool "Iron Mountain Lean".
Flitwick was so excited his eyebrows practically flew off. "That looks really interesting, Mr. Riddle?"
"Oh, this is basketball, which is very popular in the Muggle world. Many people can play basketball, but it's rare to find someone who can also sing and dance."
"Very impressive manipulation spells. I can announce your score now: full marks."
"Oh, not at all. I'm not the amazing one. It's Brother Chun who's amazing. Believe in Brother Chun and you won't fail your exams."
Flitwick didn't understand, but he laughed even harder.
For his Potions Class exam, Snape chose the most difficult Forgetfulness Potion he had learned in his first year: the potion of forgetting.
The Neville were completely bewildered. He felt as if he had drunk Forgetfulness Potion, remembering nothing except the name of the potion.
Under Snape's watchful eye, Neville trembled as he haphazardly shoved the ingredients in. Snape sneered; if this could brew Forgetfulness Potion, he'd eat the Flobberworm upside down.
He immediately stopped paying attention to Neville and focused on putting pressure on Harry.
Tom finished half an hour early, but Snape didn't even look at him and just pointed to the door, telling him to leave.
The students cheered excitedly as they handed in their last History of Magic papers.
They can play freely for a whole week until the exam results are released, then enjoy the final school year dinner before starting their two-and-a-half-month vacation.
Tom, along with Hermione and Daphne, followed the crowd out of the castle to enjoy the bright sunshine.
They hurried to a good spot by the Black Lake, where Tom conjured a tablecloth and then, with a wave of his hand, the celebratory lunch that Parla had prepared appeared on the tablecloth.
Hermione was filled with anxiety. "The wizard who conjured up a bison to frighten Muggle in 1675... I think I remembered it wrong."
"Libesgard".
"Oh no, I really remembered it wrong."
Tom replied and then ignored her. Although Hermione's personality has changed a lot, her concern for grades remains unchanged.
Who in their right mind would check their answers again after finishing an exam? Isn't that just making things harder for yourself?
Daphne ignored her, curiously watching the Giant Squid floating on the water, its tentacles reaching out to the shore, not far from them.
Daphne suddenly had a whimsical idea. "Tom, do you think we can eat these squid tentacles?"
"I don't know that yet. We can try to get some off the plate sometime. Let Zabini and Rosier test it first. If it's okay, then we can eat it."
"Great idea! I've heard that squid tentacles can keep regenerating. If we can eat them, we'll have an endless supply of food."
Hermione, still reminiscing about the exam, was speechless at the antics of these two foodies. She picked up the soup, both amused and annoyed, and took a sip, her attention completely diverted.
Tom and Daphne exchanged a smile; they had developed an uncanny understanding of how to stop Hermione from getting stuck in her own thoughts.
After enjoying a leisurely afternoon in the sunshine, the three of them strolled back to the castle around four o'clock.
An owl flapped its wings across the azure sky. Tom looked up and saw the owl fly into the Headmaster's Office.
Tom smiled and looked in the direction of Hagrid's cabin. Harry and Ron had just sneaked inside, and it was obvious they weren't up to anything.
The Slytherin Common Room was already bustling with activity.
To everyone, it seemed almost a certainty that Slytherin would win the House Cup again this year.
Slytherin currently has 500 points, and whether Gryffindor or Ravenclaw wins the championship and receives bonus points, it won't threaten their championship position.
Seven consecutive championships—this is an unprecedented achievement in the school's history.
The seventh-grade students, who had just finished their NEWTs exams, were all beaming with joy. They had a perfect school year, with outstanding results every year.
When Tom and Daphne came in, many people offered them snacks and invited them to celebrate together.
Actually, many Slytherin now dislike Tom. Bloodline discrimination can't be bridged by a few battles, but no one dares to show it.
This is the shrewdness of Slytherin. They may despise them, but it's foolish to knowingly provoke them when they know they can't afford to offend them.
Tom didn't refuse the crowd's kindness, took some candy and snacks, and listened to the older students gossip about their scandalous affairs.
Students wandering the campus were surprised to find someone who had been missing for over a month.
"Professor Quirrell?"
Quirrell smiled and nodded to the astonished students. "We left in such a rush that we didn't take many things with us."
"I'm here to take what's mine and make room for the next Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts."
