Tom thought for a moment. "Last night I found an egg in the park, and it hatched as soon as I held it in my hand."
The time, place, and process were all correct, but the "minor detail" of the system's lottery draw was omitted.
Hermione stared at Usachi, and Usachi stared back at Hermione. The two of them stared at each other, neither willing to give in.
Finally, Usachi made the first move. She climbed off Tom's arm, jumped onto the table, and sniffed Hermione's hand.
Then she stuck out her little tongue and licked Hermione's finger.
Hermione's breath hitched for a moment. "It... it's licking me."
"It likes you," Tom said with a smile, pulling Usachi into his arms and offering a few comforting words.
He then told Hermione, "It's called Rayquaza, and it's an undiscovered Fantastic Beasts."
"How did you know that?" Hermione stared at him suspiciously.
Tom asserted confidently, "We have a telepathic connection; it told me itself."
"How amazing!" Hermione was instantly intrigued and tentatively reached out to pat Usachi's head.
Usachi didn't dodge; instead, he squinted his eyes and made purring sounds like a cat.
Usachi, not being averse to the scent of Tom on Hermione, nimbly flew to Hermione's shoulder and tilted his head to look at his master.
If Tom hadn't used his telepathy to stop it from causing trouble, the little guy might have already been wagging its tail and shooting Spark.
Mr. Granger looked at the little black snake—no, the little dragon—with a complex expression on his face.
Tom wanted to go home, but Hermione wouldn't let him, dragging him to see the guest room that had been specially prepared.
Everything was brand new, never used even once.
Hermione's voice was calm, unnaturally calm, "You have nowhere to stay anyway, and the orphanage is in terrible condition."
"Stay at my place. I've already talked to my parents, and they both agreed."
Tom looked at her. "When did you tidy up?"
"This morning."
"So you didn't come to ask me out for dinner, you came to arrest someone."
Hermione's lips curled into a slight smile. "Eating is secondary. Catching them is the main thing."
Tom saw right through her little scheme: Daphne wanted to take him home, and Hermione wasn't going to be outdone, so she decided to act first and ask for his permission later.
Tom thought about it and realized that the orphanage was indeed inconvenient; Seth was always boxing in the backyard, making it impossible for him to have any peace and quiet.
The Meditation Hut is in the Study Space, so it doesn't matter where you stay.
The Granger family knew about magic, which would make it easier for him to study spells, so they readily agreed.
And so, Tom settled into Granger family.
Every morning I help Hermione with her homework, and in the afternoon I retreat to my Study Space and Meditation Hut.
In the evenings, I would accompany Hermione to Diagon Alley or the Muggle shopping mall for a stroll; I was living a blissful life.
He had a feeling that this summer vacation might not go according to his plan.
The Two-way Mirror lit up, Daphne's face appeared in the mirror, her hair a little messy, as if she had been exercising.
Tom! When are you coming to my house?
"In a few days."
"A few days is a few days?"
Tom glanced at Hermione; Hermione's expression was calm, but the corners of her mouth were turned down.
"I'll contact you in early July."
Daphne was about to say something when she suddenly noticed that the background behind Tom wasn't the Wool's Orphanage, and her eyes narrowed.
"Granger, what have you done?" Daphne exploded.
"Nothing much, Tom's just staying for a few days."
"Stay somewhere?" Daphne's voice rose a half-tone. "You, you, you just wait!"
Daphne stormed straight from the Greengrass Manor to Diagon Alley and got into a fight with Hermione.
She stubbornly called Hermione "despicable, shameless, and a freeloader," and after the argument, she went to Tom and coaxed him to come to her house as soon as possible.
Tom is currently busy looking for a house, and Mr. Granger has introduced him to a reliable real estate agent.
When Hermione heard that he wanted to buy a house, she immediately recommended buying one near her home. "Living close by means we can do our homework together and go shopping together, how convenient!"
Tom also thought the place was nice; Hermione's house was in the Chelsea Harbour area, not far from King's Cross Station.
The environment is quiet, and the residents are mostly elite middle-class people and small capitalists. There are few homeless people and thugs, since the police value these taxpayers the most.
In the end, Tom set his sights on a detached house a kilometer from Hermione's house, priced at £1.5 million, which wasn't even enough for a down payment with his £200,000.
Left with no other option, Tom took out the Philosopher's Stone and forged several gold bricks.
On the third day after he moved into Hermione's house, Albus Dumbledore sent Nicolas Flamel a reply.
It contains detailed instructions on how to make the Elixir of Life, including a recipe for refining gold.
They also invited Tom to Paris in August to discuss the Greengrass family curse in person.
The letter said that the remaining energy of the Philosopher's Stone could either be used to refine a twenty-year-old Elixir of Life or to refine a ton of gold.
Tom used one-tenth of the energy to refine 100 kilograms of gold, and with the 200,000 pounds he had on hand, he paid off the house payment in one lump sum.
Hermione then realized that the "most precious treasure" Albus Dumbledore spoke of was actually the Philosopher's Stone itself.
The house has been bought, but renovations and furniture replacements will take time, so we definitely won't be able to move in this summer.
On the last day of June, Tom was tidying up his bedroom when an owl flapped its wings and flew in, carrying Newt Scamander's letter in its beak.
The letter said that he would be available after July 10th and Tom was welcome to come to New York at any time.
The letter also included an address card with the Scamander family's address in the United States, as well as a magical mark.
By simply marking this on the envelope, the owl can find him directly.
Tom put the letter away, took out his notebook, and circled three dates on the calendar.
I went to Daphne's house on July 1st, then to New York on July 10th, and then from New York to Paris to see Nicolas Flamel.
The schedule is packed.
That evening, in the Study Space, Gellert Grindelwald's exchange application came through.
Gellert Grindelwald and Andros stood at the entrance to the Meditation Hut, both with serious expressions.
Tom walked over, saw their appearance, and his heart skipped a beat.
"You've figured it out?"
"We've figured it out!" the two said in unison.
Tom's eyes lit up instantly, like light bulbs; he had just been worried.
If all else fails, then Newt Scamander find the Thunderbird to complete the trial, since he's been stuck on the flight spell for so long.
Unexpectedly, things took a turn for the better. He waved his hand impatiently, "Quick, show me!"
Gellert Grindelwald nodded. "It's out. But—"
"But what?"
Andros and Gellert Grindelwald exchanged a glance, suppressing their laughter as they leaned closer.
Andros, seeing Tom's impatient expression, slowly explained, "Don't rush, we've developed two flight spells."
"Grindelwald and I have different strengths, and our spell styles are worlds apart. The coincidence is that we both finished it almost at the same time."
