Fat Buu recovered quickly. His regenerative abilities were potent even in his weakened state, and by the third day, he was able to get out of bed and walk around. A week later, he had regained eighty percent of his strength. However, he had become silent. He no longer laughed and joked as he once did, instead sitting quietly in a corner, staring blankly out the window. Satan visited him every day to keep him company, but Buu rarely responded. "Is he... depressed?" Satan asked Kashu. Kashu nodded. "He is blaming himself. He feels he shouldn't exist and shouldn't have brought disaster upon the Earth." "That's not his fault," Satan said. "It's all that bastard Babidi's doing." "I know, but Buu doesn't." Kashu sat down beside Buu, and the two of them watched the sky outside the window together.

"Buu," Kashu said, "do you know why you are called Buu?" Buu shook his head. "In an ancient language, 'Buu' means 'friend.' Your creator, Bibidi, gave you that name because he wanted you to be his friend. But he misunderstood the meaning of friendship. Friends are not meant to be controlled or exploited; they are meant to support one another." Buu turned to look at Kashu. "Buu... can be your friend?" Kashu smiled. "You already are." Buu's eyes reddened, and he threw himself into Kashu's arms, sobbing loudly. It was a cry of release, pouring out all his grievances, self-reproach, and fear. Kashu patted Buu's back gently, as if soothing a child.

"Buu, as long as you wish, you can stay here forever. You are a member of the Earth Guardians." Buu cried for a long time before finally calming down.

"What is this?" Kashu asked. "The Seed of Supreme Kai Power," East Supreme Kai said. "Every Supreme Kai receives one upon taking office. It stores the power of the Supreme Kai, which can be utilized in critical moments." "You want to give it to me?" "Yes," East Supreme Kai said. "I have observed you for a long time. Your character, strength, and leadership are worthy of this power. Besides... I am old. My power is waning, and I cannot fully realize the potential of this seed." "But you are different. Your body has been modified to withstand the impact of divine power. You will become the God of Earth—not a god in name only, but a true guardian possessing the power of a god."

"If we can find a parallel world where time flows hundreds of times slower than ours, we could train there for a year while only a single day passes in our world." "Is... is this feasible?" Bulma asked excitedly.

"It is," Kashu said, "but I need one thing—the ability to traverse. Without it, we could only go to a parallel world and might never be able to return."

He looked at Fat Buu. "Buu, you can help me." Buu tilted his head. "Buu? What can Buu do?" "You have the abilities of a Supreme Kai," Kashu said. "East Supreme Kai told me. You absorbed the Grand Supreme Kai and gained some of his powers. Among them is the ability to traverse parallel worlds." Buu thought for a moment, then nodded. "Buu will try." He closed his eyes and focused. Golden light surged from his body, forming a rotating portal of light in front of him. Inside the portal was a deep purple, with flickering specks of starlight visible. "Success!" East Supreme Kai exclaimed. "This is the Supreme Kai Space-Time Portal!" Kashu walked to the portal and sensed the world on the other side. His divine perception passed through the portal and reached another parallel world. The time flow in that world was much slower than here—about three hundred and sixty-five times slower. Training there for a year would mean only one day passed here. "This is it," Kashu said. "The time flow of this parallel world is 1:365."

He looked at the group. "I need to take you in batches. The first group—Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Cell, and Buu. The second group—Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, and Android 16. The third group—Android 17, 18, and myself." "Why in batches?" Bulma asked. "Because the portal can only transmit a limited amount of energy at once," Kashu said. "If too many powerful fighters go through at once, the portal will collapse." Everyone nodded. Goku was the first to step into the portal. "I'm going first! Can't wait to start training!" Vegeta snorted and followed him in. Gohan looked back at Videl. "Wait for me to return." Videl waved. "Good luck!"

Cell and Buu also stepped into the portal. The portal closed. The first day of training had begun.
