Background

Ryujin Jakka manifests after Luo Ya transmigrates into the One Piece world and awakens in a black space covered in scorched earth and ash. There, he finds a katana with a deep-purple hilt and hears its release command: “All things in the universe, turn to ashes.” Upon awakening, its flames reduce Maynard's Sea King and an iron sword to ash. 1

At first, Luo Ya primarily channels the Zanpakuto through other blades, especially Scorching Cloud and later Setting Sun Blade, because materializing Ryujin Jakka directly consumes considerable stamina and mental energy. 14 23 When Setting Sun Blade melts during Luo Ya's two-day battle with Bartholomew Kuma, it merges into the black flames and exposes Ryujin Jakka's true form. 23
