History

Planning and construction

Cybertron began as Donnie’s long-term plan for an independent Transformer civilization. He intended to use half of the AllSpark as the future planet’s core, develop incubation tanks capable of producing Transformers with complete Souls, and research the CNA life-code of Cybertronian organic life 318.

The first settlers departed Earth during Cybertron Year One, travelling to the Centaurus Arm aboard captured Chitauri and Kryptonian motherships. Donnie created a new sun named Omega, calling the surrounding region the Cybertronian or Omega System 497 498 499.

Between the system’s second and third planets, Donnie assembled enough matter to form Cybertron. The completed world was a metal planet slightly larger than Earth, designed with plant-covered regions and an Earth-like atmosphere; Transformers require oxygen to cool their bodies 501.

Settlement and expansion

Cybertron became the main planet of a growing multi-species system. Its companion satellites included New World, intended for Mutants and other Earthlings, and New Krypton, prepared for Kryptonian settlement 504 516. Warworld later became a mercenary center, while the other planets of the system were assigned to the Thirteen Primes and developed into fortified territories 517 550.

The planet’s surface gradually developed a distinct landscape of dark metallic structures and genetically modified purple Vibranium plants. In less-developed regions, exposed metal remained common because the climate could not yet sustain fragile plant life 609.

Cybertron later entered a dark spacetime containing additional stars and planets, giving its civilization a larger internal territory for colonization and defense 628.

Wars and ascension

During the Annihilation Insectoid Race war, Cybertron mobilized its cultivation pods and industrial capacity to mass-produce Transformer soldiers. The conflict eventually involved forty million Cybertronian troops, with Transformers forming the main force 678 683.

Cybertron’s defenses were pushed further during the Blackest Night crisis and its clash with the Speed Force Wall. The planet functioned as a colossal war machine, producing weapons continuously and using the remains of destroyed universes as strategic reserves 768 921. Its shields held against Time Wraiths, Speedster undead, and other intruders while Lockdown and dedicated defense forces protected the surface 922. The campaign continued for at least fifteen hundred years within the abnormal temporal conditions surrounding the Wall 923.

After reaching the God Realm, Cybertron created a survivable environment for residents unable to endure the realm’s natural pressure. Its successful entry and subsequent victories over hostile divine entities established it as a major New God power 930.

Appearance

Cybertron was initially a dim-gray metallic planet slightly larger than Earth. Its artificial environment combined exposed metal landscapes, advanced cities, vast industrial zones, and cultivated vegetation 501 609.

  • Dark silver metal and purple Vibranium-derived flora are its dominant visual colors. 609
  • Its atmosphere was designed to resemble Earth’s in composition and oxygen content. 501
  • Major cities contrast with large, sparsely populated metallic regions. 609
  • The planet later became vast enough to serve as the foundation of a universe-scale shield and war machine. 921 922
  • Cybertron responds physically to Donnie’s presence; its ground has been described as beating like a heart in time with his steps. 609

Civilization and Infrastructure

AllSpark core

The AllSpark is Cybertron’s central energy source and a defining component of its civilization.

  • Donnie originally intended to divide the AllSpark and install half as the planet’s core. 318
  • It powers massive systems such as the Father Box during high-risk scientific procedures. 1007
  • An X Energy-forged vessel was integrated into the core to contain and support the AllSpark. 868
  • The planet’s security and future Unique Gods are deeply tied to the AllSpark’s continued existence. 1028

Population development

Cybertronian Transformer reproduction relies on CNA cultivation pods rather than the direct, permanent use of the AllSpark.

  • CNA is the life-code of Transformers and was designed without rigid genetic locks, allowing individuals to develop beyond their initial classifications. 393 416
  • Newborn Transformers possess high baseline combat capability, powerful metallic bodies, advanced central processors, and the ability to integrate weapons into their forms. 918
  • Cybertron supports multiple developmental paths, including technological, physical, energy-based, divine-power, magical, genetic, and Lantern-related advancement. 416
  • By the later era, Cybertron’s population reaches twenty billion, with widespread access to genetic modification, technological upgrades, magic, and divine power. 1060

Scientific institutions

  • Academy of Sciences — Cybertron’s principal research institution, responsible for projects involving Divine Artifacts, the Universe Bridge, advanced body modification, and dangerous energy sources. 656 735 1007
  • Iron Citadel Archives — A vast military database that allows frontline Transformers to upload and download combat data on hostile forces. 678
  • Supreme Council — The governing body convened for decisions affecting the future of Cybertronian civilization; its membership includes powerful combatants and leaders of critical departments. 817
  • Mainframe Ultron — A system intelligence created by Donnie to manage ships and provide system-wide assistance to Cybertron’s residents. 497 498 516

Transportation

  • Land Bridge — Enables travel between Cybertron and its satellite worlds, though it consumes Super Energy Crystals. 504
  • Space Bridge — A developing interstellar teleportation system intended to connect Earth and Cybertron and later used extensively for military deployment. 497 679
  • Universe Bridge — A high-level Academy of Sciences device powered by the Speed Force and used in attempts to locate or access other universes. 735

Defenses

Planetary war machine

Cybertron can convert its entire industrial and military infrastructure toward planetary defense.

  • During the Speed Force Wall campaign, the planet was covered by detection equipment, defense machines, surveillance systems, and weapons capable of targeting infiltrators across its surface. 921 922
  • Its shield was constructed using the entirety of Cybertron as its foundation and endured attacks from Speed Force phenomena, Time Wraiths, and Speedster undead. 922
  • Its war reserves included vast quantities of materials and energy harvested from destroyed universes. 921
  • New Cybertron’s thousand layers of space were specifically created to improve survivability against future assaults. 855

Military forces

Cybertron’s forces include Transformer legions, Kryptonian soldiers, Mutant combatants, divine entities, and specialized planetary defenders.

  • Transformer cultivation pods can produce new soldiers at wartime scale, after which they receive basic training before joining the front. 678
  • The Thirteen Primes were created as hidden guardians and were eventually assigned to guard the planets of the Cybertronian System. 332 517
  • At least a dozen Level Eight beings supported Cybertron during its assault on the Speed Force Wall. 922
  • Cybertron’s military had deployed forty million troops during the Annihilation Insectoid Race conflict. 683

Relationships

  • Donnie — Creator, primary architect, and supreme protector of Cybertron; he built the planet, established its civilization, and directs its strategic expansion. 501 855 921
  • AllSpark — Cybertron’s core energy source and a central object of planetary defense and scientific development. 318 868 1007
  • Mainframe Ultron — System intelligence responsible for assisting residents, operating ships, and coordinating infrastructure. 497 498 516
  • Thirteen Primes — Created as Cybertron’s supreme guardians; each was intended to protect one planet in the Cybertronian System. 332 517
  • Optimus Prime and Megatron — Two leading Transformers whose technological, energy, and physical-development paths exemplify Cybertron’s principal evolution model. 416
  • Beast Wars warriors — Sent to use the abandoned “old Cybertron” in the main universe as a base and a node for preserving Cybertronian civilization if the main population were destroyed. 920
  • Primordial Lord of Heaven and Unicron — Artificially created Unique Gods whose existence is bound to Cybertron; the planet’s destruction would severely endanger them. 1028
