History

Planning and construction

Cybertron began as Donnie’s long-term plan for an independent Transformer civilization. He intended to use half of the AllSpark as the future planet’s core, develop incubation tanks capable of producing Transformers with complete Souls, and research the CNA life-code of Cybertronian organic life 318.

The first settlers departed Earth during Cybertron Year One, travelling to the Centaurus Arm aboard captured Chitauri and Kryptonian motherships. Donnie created a new sun named Omega, calling the surrounding region the Cybertronian or Omega System 497 498 499.

Between the system’s second and third planets, Donnie assembled enough matter to form Cybertron. The completed world was a metal planet slightly larger than Earth, designed with plant-covered regions and an Earth-like atmosphere; Transformers require oxygen to cool their bodies 501.

Settlement and expansion

Cybertron became the main planet of a growing multi-species system. Its companion satellites included New World, intended for Mutants and other Earthlings, and New Krypton, prepared for Kryptonian settlement 504 516. Warworld later became a mercenary center, while the other planets of the system were assigned to the Thirteen Primes and developed into fortified territories 517 550.

The planet’s surface gradually developed a distinct landscape of dark metallic structures and genetically modified purple Vibranium plants. In less-developed regions, exposed metal remained common because the climate could not yet sustain fragile plant life 609.

Cybertron later entered a dark spacetime containing additional stars and planets, giving its civilization a larger internal territory for colonization and defense 628.

Wars and ascension

During the Annihilation Insectoid Race war, Cybertron mobilized its cultivation pods and industrial capacity to mass-produce Transformer soldiers. The conflict eventually involved forty million Cybertronian troops, with Transformers forming the main force 678 683.

Cybertron’s defenses were pushed further during the Blackest Night crisis and its clash with the Speed Force Wall. The planet functioned as a colossal war machine, producing weapons continuously and using the remains of destroyed universes as strategic reserves 768 921. Its shields held against Time Wraiths, Speedster undead, and other intruders while Lockdown and dedicated defense forces protected the surface 922. The campaign continued for at least fifteen hundred years within the abnormal temporal conditions surrounding the Wall 923.

After reaching the God Realm, Cybertron created a survivable environment for residents unable to endure the realm’s natural pressure. Its successful entry and subsequent victories over hostile divine entities established it as a major New God power 930.

Appearance

Cybertron was initially a dim-gray metallic planet slightly larger than Earth. Its artificial environment combined exposed metal landscapes, advanced cities, vast industrial zones, and cultivated vegetation 501 609.
