Background / History

The Heavenly Demon Sacred Art, created by the Blood Spirit Ancestor, was designed to use 365 acupoints as furnaces: each would suppress a powerful race's bloodline before all 365 were fused into a Heavenly Demon Body. The completed art was said to be capable of producing a physique comparable to an innate body 116.

The art combined the Blood Spirit Scripture, Demon Spirit Scripture, and Devil Spirit Scripture into a body-and-law cultivation method. According to legend, Blood Spirit Ancestor used it to shatter the void, ascend to the Devil Realm, reach the Mahayana Realm, and gain the title of Blood Spirit Sacred Ancestor or Heavenly Demon Sacred Ancestor 116.

An earlier failed cultivation attempt created a Heavenly Demon that devastated the Azure Cloud World. It was ultimately sealed in five pieces, including an arm imprisoned in the Blood Spirit Hall of the Blood Spirit Realm. Other failed practitioners became mindless stitched Devil Creatures driven only by slaughter 116.

The catastrophic Heavenly Demon reached Void Refinement immediately upon its creation, surpassing the Azure Cloud World's ordinary cultivation limit. The world's leading experts could not completely kill it under the local laws, and several Spirit Transformation Sacred Lands were annihilated before it was trapped. The survivors used the world's sole Heaven-reaching Spirit Treasure to dismember it and sealed its remains in five forbidden lands. Fear of the Heavenly Demon Sacred Art subsequently led the human and demon races to destroy the Blood Spirit Sacred Palace 116.

Outer Realm Heavenly Demons normally access other worlds through the Inner Landscape World, exploiting openings created when cultivators attain enlightenment, suffer deviation, leave their minds unguarded, or undergo tribulation. Cracks in the Azure Cloud World's world barrier allowed Heavenly Demons such as Moro to enter directly as an invading vanguard 133.

A Heavenly Demon that possesses a world's source aura can sense cultivators from that world during Heart Demon Law tribulations. Possession of a specific cultivator's aura allows the demon to target that individual directly, enabling invasions across worlds without traversing ordinary spatial distances 141.

According to knowledgeable Fox Clan cultivators, the Heavenly Demon race had previously been driven into the endless outer void by the combined forces of the myriad worlds. Heavenly Demons encountered there generally lived solitary lives, making deliberately finding suitable individuals difficult even for Zhao Hao 202 218.

Ancient records in the Mysterious Yellow Realm described the Heavenly Demon race as chaos incarnate and associated its cultivation exclusively with Chaos Law. Zhao Hao's use of numerous other laws therefore became a reason for Heavenly Forge Sect leaders to question whether the reported Heavenly Demon incident was genuine 207.

Appearance

Heavenly Demons can possess a tangible demonic body or disperse into incorporeal black mist. Their size and appearance vary greatly with their cultivation and state.

Golden Core Heart-Demon Tribulation

A Heavenly Demon clone entered Zhao Hao's sea of consciousness during his Golden Core tribulation. Zhao Hao deceived it with Five Finger Mountain, captured it, and used it to strengthen the Karmic Fire Spirit Seed. Its Nascent Soul true body sensed the clone's destruction and vowed to investigate Zhao Hao later 82 83.

Nascent Soul Encounter and Deal

The Nascent Soul Outer Realm Heavenly Demon returned during Zhao Hao's Nascent Soul breakthrough. After Zhao Hao wounded it with Red Lotus Karmic Fire and forced it to sever an arm, the two reached a transaction: Zhao Hao supplied an Eight-Armed Stitching Monster arm in exchange for Heart Nightmare Dao Source and intelligence concerning the damaged Azure Cloud World barrier and prospective Devil Lord invasion 127.

Moro's Capture

Moro entered Zhao Hao's cave abode after mistaking him for a fellow Heavenly Demon due to the aura of the eight-armed stitched monstrosity. Zhao Hao immobilized Moro with Soul-Devouring Jade, performed a Soul-Searching Art, learned the race's invasion methods, and gained five Heavenly Demon Divine Abilities 132 133.

The five abilities first appeared after Zhao Hao refined blood essence from the Nascent Soul Heavenly Demon's severed arm. The process threatened to infect and assimilate his own bloodline, while Moro's memories subsequently supplied a clearer understanding of the abilities' functions 132 133.

Zhao Hao then implanted demon seeds into Moro's empty body and an Azure-Winged White Tiger's erased Nascent Soul. Three days later, both were functioning as independently acting avatars under his control, providing the initial test subjects for his stowaway ascension plan 134.

Interworld Invasion and Ye Wuchen's Conversion

After obtaining world source auras through a Heavenly Demon Contract, Zhao Hao attempted Heart Demon Law invasions of other worlds. His initial invasions of the Mysterious Yellow Realm were costly failures, but he ultimately shattered Ye Wuchen's Dao heart with Heavenly Demon Dance and used Plant Demon in the Dao Heart to turn him into an avatar within the Heavenly Forge Sect's sphere of influence 141 145.

Earlier tests through Moro's avatar included an elaborate modern-life illusion imposed on Lin Fan and an unsuccessful attempt to overcome Lin Changsheng's resolute Dao heart. These experiments demonstrated both the technique's versatility and the practical cost of failed invasions 135 140 141.

After raising all five major Heavenly Demon Divine Abilities to the Ninth Grade, Zhao Hao sent Moro out of the Azure Cloud World when its laws began rejecting the avatar. Moro barely survived the spatial turbulence outside the moving world, prompting Zhao Hao to pursue direct travel through the Inner Landscape World rather than an ordinary escape across the void 142.

Heavenly Demon Body Creation

Zhao Hao used the perfected Heavenly Demon Sacred Art to fuse 365 Demon Race bloodlines. Despite the chaotic wills within those bloodlines, he completed a Low-Grade Heavenly Demon Body and gained Heavenly Demon Transformation and Bloodline Reversion at the ninth grade 198 199.

Zhao Hao later strengthened the artificial Heavenly Demon Body to Top Grade with Dragon Transformation Pool resources, making its aura recognizable to knowledgeable Demon Race cultivators as that of a Heavenly Demon 201 202.

Spirit Transformation Tribulation

A Spirit Transformation Outer Realm Heavenly Demon entered Zhao Hao's heart-demon tribulation. Zhao Hao used the perfected Heart Demon Rule and Heavenly Demon Illusion Realm to suppress it, then transformed into a Heavenly Demon and devoured it, greatly strengthening his Primordial Spirit 202 203.

The resulting Heavenly Demon manifestation and Zhao Hao's attack on Hu Yang were recorded and circulated by Hu Qingshan, who sought to make him a common enemy of the Mysterious Yellow Realm. Heavenly Forge Sect leaders questioned the identification because the tribulation site contained numerous law auras rather than only Chaos Law, and the incident was subsequently discussed publicly as a Fox Clan fabrication 206 207 209.

Zhao Hao later arranged Ye Wuchen's Spirit Transformation breakthrough in Fallen Dragon Valley to obtain another invading Heavenly Demon as nourishment. Devouring the two tribulation invaders provided the immediate basis for his later farming plan 209 218.

Heavenly Demon Farming Plan

To solve the difficulty of accumulating soul power, Zhao Hao developed a plan to raise Heavenly Demon clones on captured Demon Race members, then harvest the resulting clones through Heavenly Demon True Form. The plan rapidly produced Spirit Transformation and Void Refinement-level Heavenly Demon clones 218 219 220 227.

The first Void Refinement clone split off an Early Spirit Transformation Heavenly Demon, which Zhao Hao consumed for ten points of cultivation progress. Because division weakened the parent, he sent it to join Hu Yang in hunting high-level demons on the South Continent 220 221.
