Dai Yun'er initially participates in Shrek Academy's virtual practical-combat assessment alongside Wu Sidu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing. Her team faces Tang Wulin's group; she disables Xie Xie with a soul impact and repeatedly contests Luo Guixing before Tang Wulin and Luo Guixing eliminate her through coordinated attacks. 31 34

She later joins Wu Sidu and Zhu Zhuqing in regular Virtual Pod training, citing their shared Hell Spirit Cat martial soul. After Zhu Zhuqing is eliminated in an early practice match, Dai Yun'er comforts her and explains the virtual arena's recovery system.
