Tang Wulin enrolls at Shrek Academy and trains under Wu Zhangkong. He completes a training objective before anyone else, establishing himself as one of the class's most dedicated students. 23

During his classroom introduction, he identifies himself as a level-twenty-eight control-type Battle Soul Master. He later explains that he had already reached level twenty-nine before receiving the Mystic Water Pill and Soul Ascension Pill, which allowed him to break through to level thirty. At the Grand Spirit Arena, he faces Tang San in a battle between Blue Silver Grass martial souls. Tang Wulin's thousand-year rings, tougher vines, and superior physical power leave Tang San unable to mount an effective counterattack. 26

Their proposed brotherhood is subsequently contradicted when Tang Yuehua reports, after meeting Tang Hao, that Tang San has no brother. The speculation therefore does not establish Tang Wulin's parentage. 233

Tang Wulin's existence as the new Blue Silver Emperor also becomes an obstacle to Tang San's attempted martial-soul evolution.
