He is identified as a rich young master from East Sea City and is notably familiar with modern soul-master concepts such as Soul Spirits, virtual-space recovery functions, and data-created soul beasts 44 82.

During a virtual battle, Dai Yun'er's mental attacks leave him unable to contribute effectively. Xie Xie later acknowledges that he must improve in order to keep pace with Tang Wulin, including training both of his dagger martial souls 33 35.

By the Shrek Academy Freshman Tournament, Xie Xie has advanced to Level 48 and can wield the Light Dragon Dagger and Shadow Dragon Dagger together in battle 218.

Xie Xie is playful, confident, and fond of teasing others. He casually challenges opponents to surrender, jokes about Tang Wulin becoming his “little brother,” and needles Tang San at every opportunity 33 159 184.

His confidence is tempered by self-awareness. After being repeatedly shut down by Dai Yun'er's spiritual abilities, he recognizes his own shortcomings rather than denying them 33 35. He is also difficult to manipulate: when Tang San attempts to exploit their shared knowledge of Tang Sect techniques, Xie Xie sees through the attempt and incapacitates him instead 139.

Xie Xie can still be overconfident against seemingly less threatening opponents. He dismisses Xu Xiaoyan's chances based on her control-system role and lower Soul Power, only for her to exploit his continued weakness in spiritual power and defeat him 218.
