Background / History

Dai Mubai is a student of the original Shrek Academy in Suo Tuo City. He and Ma Hongjun discover another academy calling itself “Shrek Academy” directly across the street and treat its opening as a challenge to their academy’s standing. On the enrollment day, Dai confronts Wu Sidu, claiming his own academy is the genuine Shrek and demanding an explanation. 1

His Evil Eye White Tiger martial soul is tied to the Star Luo Empire’s Dai family. The inherited counterpart is the Zhu family’s Nether Civet martial soul; generations of the two families have intermarried, with their inheritors becoming partners. Dai recognizes Wu Sidu’s Nether Civet immediately because his fiancée, Zhu Zhuqing, possesses the same martial soul. 2 18

Dai had fled the Star Luo Empire rather than risk death in its imperial succession struggle. He admits internally that he abandoned Zhu Zhuqing and hid in Suo Tuo City, spending his time in drunken indulgence instead of facing the conflict. 2

After the Suo Tuo group becomes associated with Monster Academy, Dai and his companions receive priority access to the academy’s resources. This privilege brings them into conflict with former Blue Tyrant Academy students, who reject the newcomers’ claim to those resources. 195 197

Dai is proud, confrontational, and highly protective of Shrek Academy’s name. He sees the new academy across the street as a deliberate provocation and confidently assumes that he can intimidate or defeat Wu Sidu due to his status as a three-ring Soul Elder. 1

His confidence frequently masks insecurity. After Wu Sidu defeats him, he refuses Ma Hongjun’s suggestion to involve Zhao Wuji—not out of restraint, but because doing so would reveal that they lost two-on-one to a girl. He remains focused on revenge despite his severe injuries. 3 38

Dai is also evasive about his past. He fled his family’s succession struggle and left Zhu Zhuqing behind, a choice that continues to trouble him when he encounters the Nether Civet martial soul. 2

Although he is readily provoked by Dai Weisi’s insults, Dai can restrain himself when confronting his elder brother on Shrek Academy’s grounds. After learning that Shrek Academy branches have appeared in several cities—including one strongly endorsed by the Star Luo emperor—Dai suspects that his father and elder brother may be behind the academy that has repeatedly defeated him. Resource Dispute at Monster Academy

After Flender grants Dai, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun priority access to cultivation resources, former Blue Tyrant Academy students challenge their entitlement. Dai steps forward to defend Ma Hongjun after Tai Long defeats him, but the dispute is contained only after Flender and Zhao Wuji intervene. 195 197
