Competing for the God of Destruction

"Vegeta, your power's gone up that much?!"

Goku was stunned. He had never expected Baal, who had given him such a hard fight, to be defeated so easily by Vegeta.

"Kakarot, listen to you. If you hadn't worn down so much of his stamina, I might not have been able to beat him."

Goku and Vegeta were just praising each other now.

"Vegeta, it's about time we went to see Xiao Quan. The newly appointed God of Destruction was defeated by us."

Vegeta thought for a while, as if considering something. Even though Goku was Grand Zeno's friend, would it really be acceptable to defeat one of his subordinates like this?

"Kakarot, is this really okay?"

"We had no choice. If Xiao Quan finds out what the newly appointed God of Destruction did, he should side with us."

Vegeta nodded. True, Grand Zeno was very reasonable with Goku. Once he knew the cause and effect of the whole matter, he would definitely understand Goku.

"Vegeta, put your hand on my shoulder."

"No, Kakarot. You go to Grand Zeno's Palace. I'll wait on Earth."

"What's wrong?"

"If we both leave, there'll be no one to protect Earth."

Goku thought about it, and Vegeta really did have a point. He took a small ring-like object from his waist, something similar to a Senzu Bean, pressed it, and teleported away directly.

Vegeta returned to his own home, leaving the desert behind. Future Trunks and Bulma were still waiting at home.

In an instant, Goku teleported to the entrance of Grand Zeno's Palace. Before long, the palace gates opened, and the Grand Priest came out to welcome Goku.

"Oh? Mr. Goku, why have you come?"

"I came to see Xiao Quan."

"Very well. Please follow me."

Goku used the Flight Technique to fly to the palace entrance. Once inside the palace, he walked through the great hall, while Grand Zeno sensed that Goku had arrived and immediately rose from his throne to go welcome his friend.

"Goku, did you come to play with me?"

"Xiao Quan."

Goku pulled Grand Zeno up, and Grand Zeno smiled happily. Soon, Goku set him back down.

"Xiao Quan, actually, I came to see you about..."

"No need to say it. I already know about the newly appointed God of Destruction of Universe 7. Right now, I'm holding a selection for your new God of Destruction."

"You already know?"

Goku found it unbelievable. News of this had reached Grand Zeno's ears far too quickly, but that was the truth.

"Yes. Since you're here, watch the Gods of Destruction selection with me. Of all the Gods of Destruction, only Universe 7 hasn't been decided yet. This time, I'm going to choose very carefully."

Goku perked up, since this concerned his own universe. The Grand Priest led Goku and Grand Zeno out of the palace, with the two guards beside Grand Zeno following as well.

They had just arrived at the palace entrance when a purple square container appeared on the ground, though this container was much larger than a God of Destruction's.

The Grand Priest stood at the front with his hands clasped behind his back. Soon, a hole opened in the container. Goku, Grand Zeno, and the others entered through it, with the Grand Priest following close behind. After they entered the container, the opening closed.

The Grand Priest recited a few incantations, and the container quickly teleported them to an unknown universe. This universe was just like the Tournament of Power.

This was a space the Grand Priest had created separately. As soon as they arrived, the competitors seated in the stands all stood and knelt on the ground to welcome Grand Zeno's arrival.

Soon, Grand Zeno walked out of the container and sat on his throne. Goku, the other two guards, and the Grand Priest also walked out. After they emerged, the square container slowly dissipated, as if it had lost its power core.
