Background / History

Following Sun Wukong's victory in the Tournament of Power, the Gods of Destruction gathered in Beerus's dark-energy temple. Angered by Wukong's challenge to their authority and public humiliation before the angels, they sought revenge against him and Vegeta. Because direct action risked provoking Grand Zeno and the angels, they adopted Mosco's proposal to use the Seed of Divine Wrath instead. 1

Their plan was to locate the legendary Seed and guide it toward Wukong or Vegeta, allowing its power to draw out the target's anger and destructive impulses until they became an uncontrollable threat. Vegeta was lured to a monument on a desolate planet and made the Seed's first test subject. 1 4

The group later pursued a wider conspiracy to take control of the multiverse. Their subordinates ambushed Wukong and Vegeta, and their actions ultimately escalated into the destruction of Earth and the killing of its inhabitants. Vermoud of Universe 11 led the attack on Earth while Beerus of Universe 7 participated in its destruction. 13 14 21

Vegito killed Vermoud in retaliation, after which Grand Zeno intervened. Although he initially intended to erase the remaining Gods of Destruction for unleashing the Seed, he spared them at Wukong's request. The Grand Priest then removed most of their divine power, leaving each with only one-tenth of it before their angels returned them to their home universes. 24 26

• Beerus — God of Destruction of Universe 7; helped organize the Seed of Divine Wrath conspiracy and later destroyed Bulma and Earth. He was stripped of most of his power and eventually resigned from his role. 1 21 26 32 33
