Aside from those three, the other two contestants had already found places to hide, deluding themselves into thinking they could get the final reward their own way. But how could it possibly be that easy?
Number Nine and Number Ten each used their own methods of sensing auras to locate those two weaklings, but when they found their enemies' auras, they discovered the two were nowhere to be seen.
"Could they be invisible?"
Number Nine and Number Ten both thought of the same possibility, but solving a problem like that was simple enough: use the Prince Tactics.
Before long, the two weaklings could no longer stand their attacks and were forced to reveal their true forms. The one Number Nine found surrendered on the spot, while the one Number Ten found was a hotheaded fool, clearly unhappy with this way of handling things.
Number Ten sneered and stared at the weakling before him, Number Forty-Seven, without saying a word. Number Forty-Seven rushed at Number Ten, wanting to vent the anger in his heart, but anyone who had survived until the final few contestants had to have some skill.
Number Ten merely twisted his body lightly, and Number Forty-Seven lunged into empty air. Number Ten followed up with a kick, knocking Number Forty-Seven to the ground.
"Are you going down yourself, or am I sending you down?"
Number Ten asked the battered and miserable Number Forty-Seven in front of him. Number Forty-Seven had just been about to speak when Number Ten slammed a heavy punch into him.
"You're actually thinking about it?"
Number Forty-Seven's eyes rolled white from the punch, and he collapsed to the ground in an instant. Then Number Ten mercilessly kicked him off.
At that moment, Number Ten turned to look. Number Nine and Number Seven were already rushing toward him from different directions. Up on the platform, Grand Zeno and Sun Wukong were watching in silence.
Number Ten then released his energy, and an aura so righteous it seemed wicked spread outward. Number Seven and Number Nine were shocked by that powerful aura, but it did not stop them from moving toward Number Ten.
Soon, Number Seven was the first to arrive where Number Ten was.
"I never thought you'd survive this long, Jing Qi!"
Number Ten spoke first, while Number Seven looked at the old acquaintance before him without much surprise. After all, the two of them had trained together since childhood; only their masters had been different.
"I didn't expect it either, E Yun."
Right after they finished those two lines, the two sides began fighting. Number Ten used his skill first, Blood Sickle. His right hand transformed into a scythe, its blade blood-red and its handle black, while his left hand became a chain.
Number Seven also used his own skill, Abyss Staff. A scepter appeared in his right hand. Its appearance looked no different from an ordinary scepter, but upon closer inspection, it seemed to be pieced together from all kinds of fragments, making it especially distinctive.
Rather than calling them skills, it was more like they had summoned their respective weapons. Their weapons soon collided, and the clash of metal rang out exceptionally loudly, making Grand Zeno and Sun Wukong up on the platform widen their eyes.
At that moment, Number Nine stood on a distant mountaintop, watching the two contestants fight. A gloomy laugh leaked from his mouth, as if he were an adult watching children play house, brimming with confidence.
The scepter Jing Qi swung was especially powerful. In his hand, it was like an all-purpose weapon of attack, able both to block and, when he attacked, to have its head change into any weapon shape he wanted.
E Yun's scythe was different. He could convert the energy from another person's weapon attack into his own counterattack. All he needed to do was wait until Jing Qi exhausted himself, because this combat talent of his had been born for drawn-out battles.
At that moment, Number Nine released his skill, Stasis. He pressed his hands together and began rubbing them back and forth nonstop. Slowly, that energy began to expand, and within that energy, all objects and people would be frozen in place—except for himself.
Soon, that energy drew the attention of the two who were fighting. Both of them stopped attacking and flew toward Number Nine.
By then, Number Nine had already prepared his energy. His eyes snapped shut, and his hand made a downward gesture. His Stasis quickly split into two, each rushing toward Number Seven and Number Ten.
Number Seven looked at the energy space coming toward him and quickly used his clone. His true body shifted onto the clone, which was equivalent to his soul swapping into it. The clone now belonged to the true body, while the clone he had left behind was viciously suppressed by that energy.
Number Ten used his scythe to resist that energy. His Blood Sickle pierced into the energy and began devouring it, but the source of that energy was Stasis, and Number Nine's hand was one with it.
Before long, Number Ten's body paid the price for devouring the energy. His body rapidly hardened, and the Blood Sickle, which had still been continuously absorbing the Stasis energy, also stopped absorbing. Now his whole body was like a wooden puppet.
Number Ten's combat talent did have its advantages, but this was also its drawback. Now, he was a lamb waiting to be slaughtered. Number Nine slowly walked down from the slope, looked at Number Ten in front of him, mocked him harshly first, and then punched him out of bounds.
Then he turned toward Number Seven's position. He thought Number Seven's clone was the true body, believing that if he knocked him down, he would obtain the power of destruction. Just as he was about to knock him down, the clone suddenly shattered.
But what appeared before him was not the blood and flesh of a person breaking apart. It was shards of mirror.
"Damn it!"
"My specialty is making mirrors. Did you really not even notice that?"
After saying this, Number Seven, Jing Qi, emerged from the ground and slammed his weapon, Abyss Staff, hard into Number Nine. Then he put away his weapon and raised his left hand. Jing Qi's left hand instantly shattered, breaking into tiny fragments.
Number Nine immediately raised his arm to block, but he had forgotten that what Jing Qi excelled at most was getting behind his opponent. At that moment, Jing Qi suddenly vanished, then suddenly appeared behind him. The fragments formed from his left hand abruptly stabbed deep into Number Nine's back.
"You!"
Number Nine's body now belonged to Number Seven, Jing Qi, because the fragments were equivalent to his cells. Now, he could control Number Nine to do anything he wanted.
"Jump down yourself."
Number Nine's soul did not want to go down, but unfortunately, control was now in Number Seven, Jing Qi's hands. He could only obediently jump down on his own.
After he jumped down, the Grand Priest also announced the end of the match, and declared that Number Seven, Jing Qi, was the new God of Destruction of Universe 7.
At that moment, Wukong also flew down from the spectator seats. He greeted the newly appointed God of Destruction before him, which counted as their first meeting.
Grand Zeno also flew down. He looked at the new God of Destruction before him, and when Jing Qi saw Grand Zeno coming over, he immediately knelt before him. Grand Zeno called him back up, as if very satisfied with this newly appointed God of Destruction.
"What's your name?"
"Lord Grand Zeno, my name is Jing Qi."
"Good. I'll remember you. I don't have any demands of you, but keep this in mind: don't get any ideas about Earth. Earth is my friend Sun Wukong's home."
"Sun Wukong?"
At that moment, Wukong smiled.
"That's him. Good, I'll remember."
The Grand Priest also flew down from the air. He called to Jing Qi.
"Lord Grand Priest."
"You're coming with us."
The container they had arrived in suddenly appeared beneath the Grand Priest's feet. The container opened an entrance, and Grand Zeno and Wukong walked inside. After them came the Grand Priest, the guards, and the newly appointed God of Destruction, Jing Qi.
