Jing Qi

The Grand Priest brought Wukong, Grand Zeno, and the newly appointed God of Destruction, Jing Qi, to Grand Zeno Palace. Now that Universe 7's God of Destruction had been confirmed, Wukong naturally had to return to Earth. After saying goodbye to Grand Zeno, he used the Time Ring to return to his home.

The Grand Priest escorted Grand Zeno to his throne, with his two guards following behind them. Once Grand Zeno sat down, he nodded to the Grand Priest, and the Grand Priest prepared to begin transferring the power of destruction to Jing Qi. This was the reward he deserved.

As for why the candidate God of Destruction chosen by the rules on the stage earlier had not come, that would have to wait for the Grand Priest to explain.

"Lord Grand Priest, is this Grand Zeno's palace?"

"Yes."

After saying that, the Grand Priest had Jing Qi sit down. He chanted an incantation under his breath as power began gathering in his hands. A dark-purple aura appeared around him, and he slowly transferred that power into Jing Qi.

The instant Jing Qi came into contact with that power, his whole body trembled, and cold sweat poured down his back. This power was not yet compatible with him, and he still needed time to adapt to it.

When the Grand Priest had transferred about half of it, Jing Qi gradually began to accept the power, and the clothing on his body also began to slowly transform. His physique gradually started to fill out.

The Grand Priest was already reaching the end of the process, but for Jing Qi, it felt like he had been dreaming. After all, suddenly receiving a power completely different from his previous method of cultivation inevitably made him doubt himself a little. He had won a single match, and yet there was actually a reward like this.

"All right. It is complete."

"Thank you, Lord Grand Priest, and thank you, Lord Grand Zeno. I definitely won't let you down!"

Jing Qi looked at his own body and found it utterly unbelievable. After all, this power was far stronger than that of anyone he had ever seen.

"I will have Whis teach you step by step how to use this power," the Grand Priest said slowly.

"I have my own personal angel too!?"

Jing Qi was overwhelmed by the honor.

"Yes."

After the Grand Priest said this, he pointed outside, indicating that there was nothing else he needed to explain to Jing Qi. Now, he only needed to go to Universe 7's Planet of Destruction and wait for Whis.

"Yes, Lord Grand Priest. I'll be sure to work hard!"

The Grand Priest nodded. Jing Qi then walked out of Grand Zeno's Palace and flew back toward his own Planet of Destruction.

On the way back, he tried to sense his own aura. Gradually, he felt just how powerful this force was. It filled his body, and the aura he gave off was enough to shatter some small planets.

He soon arrived at his own Planet of Destruction, where an angel holding a staff was respectfully waiting for him.

"Lord Jing Qi, hello. I am the angel Whis."

"Hello!"

Jing Qi looked at Whis in front of him and felt very satisfied. Whis soon taught him the most basic duties of a God of Destruction, along with some of his own martial techniques. Jing Qi's growth could be called astonishingly fast.

Jing Qi began trying to search throughout Universe 7 for planets that were on the verge of withering. Their task was to destroy those planets.

"Whis, what kind of planet counts as one that's about to wither?"

"Lord Jing Qi, these planets are actually very easy to distinguish. As long as you sense that there is no sign of life on the planet, or that the planet is about to become desolate, you may destroy it."

"What if I destroy good planets?"

"Then that is up to you. I am only here to assist you, not to supervise you."

Jing Qi nodded. Just as they were searching for a target, they discovered the blue planet ahead—"Earth."

"Is this Sun Wukong's home?"

"Yes, Lord Jing Qi. This is Mr. Wukong's home. Would you like to take a look?"

"Sure!"
