Background / History

The Seed of Divine Wrath is described as a primordial power born with the universe, embodying its anger and destructive nature. Ancient gods sealed it away, but that seal weakened over time. Records in the Land of Oblivion identify re-sealing it as necessary to prevent a universal catastrophe. 5

Following the Tournament of Power, the Gods of Destruction chose the Seed as a covert weapon against Sun Wukong and Vegeta. Rather than attack them directly and risk Grand Zeno's response, they intended to guide the Seed toward one of the Saiyans and let its influence turn him into a destructive threat. 1

Vegeta became the first test subject after being lured to a rune-covered monument on a desolate planet. The monument's force rendered him unconscious and implanted or awakened the Seed's power within him. 3 4

Later revelations identify the Seed as containing the power and will of Zalama, a powerful being who had once attempted to assassinate Grand Zeno and was sealed as a result. Zalama seeks rebirth through Vegeta's body. 27 40
