Background

The Grand Elder identifies Piccolo as the Namekian child sent to Earth by Katas during Namek’s environmental decline. Having lost his childhood memories, Piccolo later split from Kami, which substantially weakened both his power and Dragon Clan potential. 35

Before the Saiyan invasion, Piccolo trains Son Gohan alone in the wilderness for a year. He remains harsh and demanding, but Gohan’s progress and reunion with Goku show the depth of their bond. 10 12
