The Thunderbird Who Came for a Free Meal, Suitcase
Storm Town.
Lucien found an open space at the edge of the area, and Newt followed beside him. He also found Lucien's words intriguing.
He called out to guide the circling Thunderbird to land. As soon as the Thunderbird touched the ground, it hopped and skipped to Lucien's side, chirping incessantly.
"Boss, when are we going to your territory?"
"I'm hungry again, boss. Is there anything else to eat?"
"I've wanted to leave this place for ages. There are always humans hiding somewhere, spying on me, thinking they're hiding perfectly well..."
I didn't realize this Thunderbird was such a chatterbox after spending the last few days with it.
Lucien quickly stopped the other person's rambling and asked the main question:
"Wait a minute, what are you Accio here? And why are you calling me 'boss'?"
Lucien's question puzzled Thunderbird, who clearly hadn't expected his boss to ask something so obvious.
However, the leader's question definitely needed to be answered; the Thunderbird chirped a few times.
"Boss, you fly faster than me, and you even gave me food after you won. That proves you're capable of getting food, which is equivalent to acknowledging me. Doesn't that make you my boss? Isn't that the rule of us Thunderbird?"
"?"
Does the Thunderbird have this rule?
Can you conquer Thunderbird by flying faster and providing it with food?
Lucien immediately relayed Thunderbird's meaning to Newt and asked if it was really as Thunderbird said.
Newt remained silent for a few seconds.
"Well, I've spoken with Frank and learned that the Thunderbird King is indeed the fastest flyer and the most skilled hunter in this area, but the specifics of winning in flight and then providing food..."
"Yes, I will add this point to the new book."
Now Lucien understands; Newt didn't know either.
Lucien then reluctantly began communicating with Thunderbird:
"Just treat our flying competition as a game. Consider that meal a thank you for spending the last few days with me, okay?"
Thunderbird shook its head.
"No, a win is a win, and a loss is a loss. Besides, boss, the prey you caught is so delicious! What kind of things did I catch before?!"
Lucien's forehead creased with annoyance. Was this Thunderbird just stubborn, or did it simply want to freeload off him?
Although raising Thunderbird can yield materials, these items are rare and expensive on the market.
However, unlike the Magical Creatures I already kept, the Thunderbird requires a large range of movement, and the space in the homemade gourd certainly couldn't meet that need.
The space needed for just one Fire Dragon like Norbert is enough to keep Lucien busy. He'll have to consult Newt or ask him for help expanding the space when he gets back.
As for free-range grazing in the Forbidden Forest, the climate in Daiying is too different from here, so it's not suitable.
"Boss, where is your territory?"
"My territory, uh, why are you asking that?"
The Thunderbird stretched its wings slightly and let out a proud cry.
"If it's inconvenient for you to take me, I can fly there myself. Actually, I'm not that slow, and I can track your location, Boss. Thunderbird have very strong positioning and navigation capabilities!"
Lucien was even more troubled and quickly told Newt about the conversation they had just had.
Newt glanced at Thunderbird, then at Lucien.
"Then you should take the child with you. It's too dangerous for a juvenile Thunderbird to cross the ocean."
This answer clearly surprised Lucien, but he still shared his concerns with Newt.
When Lucien mentioned the Thunderbird ' living space and environment, Newt waved his hand:
"It's alright, I have a way to help you. Getting to know all sorts of Magical Creatures early on is a valuable learning experience."
Lucien was surprised; he hadn't expected Newt to reply so readily.
Isn't Mr. Scamander being a little too nice to himself? Is this what makes Hufflepuff so valuable?
Perhaps it was Newt's attitude towards Magical Creatures and his related abilities that made Mr. Scamander value his talent?
Solving the space problem...
"Lucien, you don't need to worry about the reserve and the France having any objections to this. I will take the Thunderbird away in my name for rescue and observation. Actually, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. I have some influence when it comes to Magical Creatures."
Newt acted as if he was afraid Lucien wouldn't want to take the Thunderbird, and that was exactly what happened.
Whether it's talent or luck, Lucien always seems to find something new in exploring the realm of Magical Creatures.
This was a rare occurrence, which Newt took very seriously.
So he wanted to encourage Lucien to have as much contact with Magical Creatures as possible, so that he could develop more interests as he grew up.
Since Newt has put it that way, Lucien has no reason to refuse.
"Mr. Scamander, thank you for your help and support."
Seeing that Lucien had agreed, Newt smiled with relief.
"Okay, I'll go and talk to the officials first."
After Newt left, Lucien and Thunderbird stared at each other blankly.
Lucien never expected that his trip here to fly around and complete a loan task would end up with him running off with a Thunderbird.
"Chirp!"
"Boss, I'm hungry, I want to eat."
Lucien's lips twitched; he was now even more convinced that the Thunderbird simply wanted to freeload off him.
"Wait a moment, I'll get on it."
Lucien did some calculations. He now had a Qilin, a Fire Dragon, a Niffler, a Thunderbird, a group of Acromantula, a group of Mooncalf, and a group of...
It's almost big enough to open a zoo.
Dorset.
Newt took Lucien home.
Seeing the old man and the young girl chatting and laughing together, Tina was also very happy.
"Looks like you had a great time in Arizona?"
"Tina, I've had quite a few gains this time, you know, about the Thunderbird..."
Tina listened with a smile as Newt recounted his journey. She knew her husband well; he always got this excited whenever he made a new discovery about Magical Creatures.
After Newt finished speaking, Tina looked at Lucien and asked with concern:
"Lucien, nothing unexpected happened this time, huh? Newt back in the day, his ability to stir up trouble and communicate with Magical Creatures was just as impressive."
"Um, well, it was a little unexpected, but it's just a minor issue, a minor issue. Tina, I'll take Lucien to see something first."
After saying that Newt quickly grabbed Lucien and ran off, not daring to give Tina a chance to ask any further questions.
Lucien followed Newt into the study, where, in addition to books, there were some Magical Creatures.
They all seem to be young or sick individuals, probably for easy care. This study certainly has Newt's signature style.
Newt walked to the desk and made the rest of the clutter fly away, leaving only one thing behind.
It was a suitcase.
Upon seeing the box, Lucien had some guesses.
