Assistant for Caring for Magical Creatures
Lucien patted Aether's big head helplessly, signaling it to stop drooling, while keeping an eye on Nagini.
"Stop looking, she's your... um, your new roommate."
That was obviously a joke; Lucien would create a separate space, reinforced with a strong magical seal, to separate Nagini from all the animals.
This is for the safety of both parties.
Nagini's current state is too unstable, and some Magical Creatures are not to be trifled with.
Aether's eyes dimmed instantly, and she let out a low, mournful groan.
It had already been seriously taught by Lucien: roommates and colleagues are not allowed to eat!
Good evening, boss.
A slightly hoarse voice came from the side.
Newt looked in the direction of the sound and saw the House-elf standing not far away.
The other person wasn't wearing the old pillowcases or tattered sacks that House-elf are usually seen wearing, but rather a well-tailored shirt, clean and tidy trousers, and even a pair of small leather shoes.
The House-elf greeted Lucien, then curiously examined Newt with its tennis ball-sized eyes.
Newt also looked at him curiously.
Is there House-elf in Lucien's box?
This surprised him somewhat.
Since Lucien comes from Muggle family, he certainly wouldn't have a family House-elf of elves.
Moreover, the House-elf's attire clearly signifies freedom—no Pure-blood families would give House-elf House-elf clothes to dress like this.
Giving away clothes symbolizes returning the House-elf's freedom.
He also referred to Lucien as "boss".
House-elf who accept employment?
Newt was reminded of the House-elf in Nicolas Flamel's stories, but those were clearly different from the one before him.
"Mr. Scamander, this is Dobby," Lucien introduced. "Dobby, and this is Mr. Scamander. Newt Scamander, a leading authority in the field of Magizoology."
"Dobby is my hired assistant. He helps me manage the Box World, take care of the Magical Creatures, grow herbs..."
Newt nodded, his gaze towards Dobby filled with a touch of emotion.
Taking pride in serving their owners—this concept is almost ingrained in the bones of House-elf.
House-elf pursue and ultimately achieve freedom are truly rare.
Those who are able to "work" after gaining their freedom are extremely rare.
The job actually requires payment?
This is very embarrassing, even shameful, for House-elf.
Most people would probably be surprised and immediately turn away if they heard that the House-elf was looking for a job but asking for wages.
Just then, the sound of flapping wings came.
The few "little angels" with pure white wings Accio and landed beside Lucien, nuzzling his hand affectionately.
Newt looked at them, his eyes filled with amazement and wonder.
"These are all Alchemy Puppet I made," Lucien explained. "Dobby and Dobby help take care of them."
Newt took a step closer and examined one of the Cupid closely.
The little guy wasn't shy at all; he tilted his head and looked at him, even waving his little hand.
"It doesn't look like an alchemical creation at all..." Newt murmured.
These dolls are so lifelike that it's hard to tell they were made; they have no stiff movements or blank expressions. Each one is incredibly vivid, with lively eyes, and they can even act cute.
Newt recalled the alchemical artifacts Lucien had produced— the East Wind Broom, the Instant Whisper, Cupid ...
Each piece far surpasses the standard of alchemy, and each one exudes extraordinary craftsmanship and creativity.
Newt sighed inwardly, thinking that Nicolas had really found the right student.
That extraordinary alchemical skill can finally be passed down in its entirety.
Unlike popular science books about Magical Creatures, Newt can record the habits and characteristics of various animals in books, using words to popularize their cuteness and terror to the world, so that people can understand and protect them, while also respecting their claws and magic.
Alchemy is an even more profound and "dangerous" field of knowledge.
Basic introductory books are fine, but the more in-depth the alchemical knowledge, the more cautious one must be in writing and disseminating it in books.
Nobody wants a wizard to try something out of a book and accidentally create a "bomb" that sends them and their house flying into the sky, right?
Therefore, the transmission of Alchemy still places more emphasis on the traditional master-apprentice relationship, with instruction passed down through words and deeds.
Fortunately, Nicolas doesn't have to worry about passing on his legacy now.
Lucien now has Alchemy Puppet and House-elf helping him manage the Box World, making it run much more smoothly.
Newt couldn't help but feel a little envious.
He couldn't help but think of his assistant from his youth— Bunty.
The girl worked well with him and helped him a lot in taking care of the Magical Creatures.
But after he married Tina, Bunty voluntarily resigned.
Newt couldn't figure out why either, since the salary and benefits he offered were quite good.
As for House-elf...
The Scamander family does indeed have them.
However, the House-elf was given to Newt's brother, Theseus Scamander, the eldest son of the family.
If only we had a group of Alchemy Puppet to help us...
Newt watched the busy "little angels" and thought to himself.
But how could an elder ask a younger person for something?
Moreover, Newt is not good at socializing or speaking, and he had no idea how to bring it up.
"Mr. Scamander," Lucien suddenly said, "You should take some of these Alchemy Puppet back with you."
Newt was taken aback.
Lucien smiled and continued, "Please don't refuse; it's actually not difficult to make."
Newt opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know what to say.
Lucien looked at the Cupid, his tone relaxed. "Besides, taking them back will make things much easier for you; they can help take care of the Magical Creatures and organize your notes. That way, you'll have more energy—"
"Go and help more Magical Creatures."
