Background / History

Tang Wulin attends East Sea City Intermediate Soul Master Academy's Class Five, where he becomes Xie Xie's close friend. He reluctantly helps Xie Xie attempt to prank Fang Yuan, resulting in both boys being punished with ten laps by Wu Zhangkong. 10

He is initially conscious of the gap between his own ability and that of Fang Yuan and Gu Yue. Although he works as a blacksmith, he struggles to afford the heavenly treasures needed to address his stalled cultivation and asks Fang Yuan to lend him 500,000 Federal Coins. 22

After obtaining resources from Fang Yuan and the Blacksmith's Association, Tang Wulin unlocks the first seal of the Golden Dragon King. The breakthrough grants him the Golden Dragon Claw and improves his physical strength and resilience. 26 27

He is also self-conscious about his comparatively low cultivation and aptitude. When Wu Zhangkong appoints him to organize Class Five's training, Tang Wulin initially doubts that he can earn the others' respect, but accepts the responsibility after his teacher recognizes his character and diligence. 20
