Background / History

Gu Yuena raised Fang Yuan after he appeared inside a meteorite in the Star Dou Forest. Although she is naturally cold, remote, and hostile toward humans, she directs exceptional tenderness toward him and wishes for him to grow up carefree. 1

Following Fang Yuan's awakening of twin martial souls and an extraordinarily pure Dragon God bloodline, the ferocious beasts view him with instinctive awe. Di Tian urges Gu Yuena to cultivate him as a future hope for the dragon race, but she ultimately decides that Fang Yuan should choose his own life rather than bear her people's expectations. 2

She brings Fang Yuan to East Sea City for education, spirit-soul acquisition, and exposure to human society. To remain at his side while also pursuing plans for the dragon race, she separates an avatar carrying her memories and one-tenth of her cultivation; this avatar attends school as Fang Yuan's older sister, Gu Yue. 4 9 10
