Background / History
Lin Hanxuan grew up as an orphan alongside Hal, whom he considers his most important brother. Fields rescued him after his father, said to have been an agent in the Misera Empire, was killed; Lin was subsequently associated with the Yi Family. His ties to Fields and Lei Wang make him politically valuable despite his initially unremarkable standing. 2 3
At Saguli Academy, Lin cannot sense elemental energy and struggles with ordinary elemental-summoning lessons. Rather than abandon summoning, he devotes his nights to the Balance Summoning Technique taught by Kun, repeatedly exhausting his usable mental power to develop it. 1 7
His connection to the Rotting Swamp begins through Sihaier and Kubaka. He uses the Balance Summoning Technique to summon Kubaka and stabilize an energy storm, then rushes to the swamp when Kubaka reports that Sihaier is in danger. Lin later receives the World Tree’s recognition and becomes determined to protect Sihaier and the World Tree. 4 7 9
During the Sand Tiger incident, Lin attempts to rescue Yi Junshu and is swallowed alongside him. He activates a summoning array, and Kubaka kills the Sand Tiger from within to save them. 17
After witnessing Peiganbo’s memories and the sacrifice of two mantises, Lin refuses to treat him merely as an enemy. Using the name Yang Zhao, revealed by Fields as his original name, Lin forms a spiritual contract with Peiganbo; he insists that they be friends rather than master and servant. 23 24
Lin is later poisoned by an assassin’s tooth while protecting Peiganbo. His World Tree Necklace reacts, and Kun releases a divine-beast aura that incapacitates nearby enemies. Sihaier detoxifies him, after which Lin resolves to be more cautious. 27 28 30
A shadow creature kidnaps Lin and Yi Junze, taking them to the Misera Empire. There, Lin reunites with his elder sister Yang Rong and learns of their mother’s death. Emperor Midras asks him to seek Kun’s aid in stopping a catastrophic Magic Beast conflict in the empire’s south; Lin agrees to help despite the danger and the hostility between the two empires. 44 46 47 48

Personality
Lin is diligent and determined. Although unable to sense elemental energy, he continues training the Balance Summoning Technique nightly and seeks to improve his mental power rather than relying on conventional lessons. 1 7
He is notably compassionate toward Magic Beasts. He argues for Kubaka and Peiganbo to settle their conflict fairly, empathizes with Peiganbo’s history, and later protects him from revenge despite the harm Peiganbo caused. 19 23 24
Lin can be naive about political intrigue and initially struggles to understand familial rivalry within the Yi Family. Over time, he becomes more cautious, assertive, and willing to question authority or mediate disputes. 2 30 32 50
