Background / History
Liu Erlong is closely connected to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan through her father, Yu Luomian. During the Sky Screen controversy, she publicly addressed Yu Luomian as “Father,” exposing a family connection that caused observers to identify Yu Xiaogang as her cousin. She immediately apologized to Xiaogang, believing the revelation had upset him. 22
She is part of Shrek Academy’s inner circle alongside Yu Xiaogang and Flender. During the confrontation with Spirit Hall over Xiao Wu, Xiaogang referred to Xiao Wu as Liu Erlong’s daughter and told her to prepare their Martial Soul Fusion Skill. 27
Her relationship with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan remains strained. When clan elders sought to bring Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong back, she opposed them; after an elder struck Xiaogang, she immediately attempted to fight them using her Martial Soul Avatar. 157 171
The Sky Screen later emphasizes a divergence between Liu Erlong’s original-world and livestreamed parallel-world counterparts. While the original-world Liu Erlong continues to insist that her relationship with Yu Xiaogang cannot be shaken, her counterpart becomes visibly affected by Tang Si’s return and privately wonders whether her life would have been different had she accepted him in the past. 224
Personality
Liu Erlong is intensely devoted to Yu Xiaogang, admiring his knowledge, composure, and alleged sacrifices in martial soul research. Even when public opinion, eyewitness accounts, and the Sky Screen challenge his theories, she treats criticism as slander and continues to affirm her faith in him. 7 13 15
She is hot-tempered and confrontational when Xiaogang is insulted. She threatens commenters, argues directly with Dugu Yan, repeatedly challenges those who question him, and is willing to resort to violence when Tang Si insults or threatens Xiaogang. 13 48 135
Her loyalty also makes her highly susceptible to misunderstanding Xiaogang’s motives. She interprets his actions in the most favorable light, praises him for enduring humiliation, and attempts to persuade Tang Si to become his disciple despite Tang Si having no master-disciple relationship with him. 27 65 120
Although she can show genuine concern as a teacher—such as warning Tang Si and Zhu Zhuqing against the danger of an excessive Soul Ring—her devotion to Xiaogang repeatedly overrides her judgment. She defended his attempt to revise Soul Ring limits despite its dangers, sought an Immortal Herb for him at any cost, and eventually offered herself to Tang Si in exchange for one after misconstruing Tang Si’s intentions. 131 135 136 137
Her livestreamed counterpart later becomes disillusioned with Xiaogang. She questions whether he merely read enough books to deceive others, admits that she no longer knows whether she still has feelings for him, and recognizes that he had persuaded her to offer herself to Tang Si for the sake of an Immortal Herb. 226
Abilities & Skills
Fire Dragon Martial Soul
Liu Erlong possesses the Fire Dragon Martial Soul and can employ fire-attribute Soul Power in combat.
- She summoned her Fire Dragon and entered Martial Soul Possession when preparing to attack Tang Si. 135
- Her Seventh Soul Skill is Fire Dragon Avatar, allowing her to transform and battle in her Martial Soul Avatar state. 171
Martial Soul Fusion Skill
Liu Erlong is one of the three members of the Golden Iron Triangle’s Martial Soul Fusion Skill, together with Yu Xiaogang and Flender.
- Yu Xiaogang instructs her to be ready to use the Fusion Skill during the Spirit Hall confrontation over Xiao Wu. 27
- The Fusion Skill manifests as the Golden Holy Dragon and possesses a sacred attribute and Golden Holy Dragon bloodline. 43
- The precise division of control among Liu Erlong, Yu Xiaogang, and Flender has not been clarified. A Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan elder specifically questioned who truly controls the Fusion Skill. 172
- The trio could not deploy the Fusion Skill during their clash with the clan elders because Liu Erlong and Flender were restrained while Yu Xiaogang was incapacitated. 172
- Tang Si proposes that Luo Sanpao is an incomplete or juvenile Golden Holy Dragon whose potential is connected to Flender and Liu Erlong’s Martial Souls, rather than a fundamentally useless pig-like Martial Soul. Liu Erlong is shocked by this interpretation and begins reconsidering Luo Sanpao’s nature. 227
Soul Power
- Liu Erlong was a level 75 Soul Master before interacting with the Sky Screen. 62
- After submitting an invalid demand rather than a qualifying question, the Sky Screen punished her by reducing her Soul Power to level 74. 62
- Her livestreamed parallel-world counterpart later approaches level 80, while Flender and Zhao Wuji stand at levels 82 and 81 respectively. 225
Relationships
- Yu Xiaogang — Her beloved, cousin, and fellow Shrek teacher. She unwaveringly defends his theories, reputation, and actions, and is deeply moved whenever she believes he is protecting or comforting her. After Xiaogang expressed despair over his Martial Soul’s limitations, she agreed to seek an Immortal Herb for him regardless of the personal cost. 7 15 22 27 65 136 Her livestreamed counterpart later becomes uncertain of her feelings after recognizing that Xiaogang manipulated her into approaching Tang Si for an Immortal Herb and begins questioning both his motives and theoretical knowledge. 226 227
- Yu Luomian — Her father; Liu Erlong publicly calls him “Father” during the Sky Screen discussion. 22
- Tang San — Xiaogang’s disciple. Liu Erlong rebukes him when he begins doubting Xiaogang’s soul-ring choices, insisting that Xiaogang treats him as his own son. 16 During the crisis surrounding Tang San’s emergence from Killing City, she is among the Shrek-affiliated figures inclined to risk supporting him because they believe his divine inheritances guarantee his future success. 218
- Flender — Shrek colleague, fellow Golden Iron Triangle member, and Xiaogang’s ally. He repeatedly tries to calm or correct Liu Erlong when her defense of Xiaogang causes problems, including during her confrontations with Tang Si and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. 15 120 135 171 After her faith in Xiaogang weakens, Flender cautiously asks whether she still loves Xiaogang and whether she has feelings for Tang Si, revealing that his own feelings for her remain unresolved. 226
- Bibi Dong — A rival for Xiaogang’s affection; Bibi Dong envies Liu Erlong for standing beside Xiaogang during his moment of public recognition. 19
- Dugu Yan — Frequent adversary in Sky Screen arguments, particularly over Yu Xiaogang’s theories and Tang Si’s accomplishments. 48 79
- Tang Si — Liu Erlong initially assumes he is Yu Xiaogang’s disciple and urges him to accept Xiaogang as his master; Tang Si rejects the suggestion. Her subsequent effort to buy or otherwise obtain an Immortal Herb for Xiaogang leads to an escalating conflict, including an attempted attack and her unsuccessful offer to spend a night with him in exchange for an herb. 120 135 137 After Tang Si’s second awakening and return to Shrek, her livestreamed counterpart is awkward around him, regrets her past choices, and cannot clearly deny developing complicated feelings for him. 224 226
- Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan Elders — Liu Erlong opposes their efforts to take her and Xiaogang back to the clan. She fought them after they assaulted Xiaogang but was defeated and prevented from joining the Golden Iron Triangle’s Fusion Skill. 157 171 172
Story Role / Major Arcs
Defense of Yu Xiaogang’s Reputation
When the Sky Screen reveals and questions Yu Xiaogang’s theories, Liu Erlong becomes one of his loudest defenders. She insists that failures attributed to his soul-ring limits came from incorrect soul-beast age assessments rather than flawed theory. 13
As criticism escalates into accusations of plagiarism and harmful guidance, she argues that outsiders have never witnessed how hard Xiaogang worked or what he sacrificed for martial soul research. 15
She continues to champion Xiaogang’s “Invincible Path” explanation for Tang San’s Soul Ring choices, arguing that Tang San’s future godhood and projected attainment of level 66 at age nineteen validate Xiaogang’s guidance. 48 102 116
Restoring Tang San’s Faith
When Tang San begins doubting Xiaogang after Tang Si criticizes the Datura Snake soul ring and Martial Soul Mimicry theory, Liu Erlong harshly rebukes him. She persuades him that Xiaogang would never intentionally harm a disciple he treats as a son, prompting Tang San to apologize to his teacher. 16
Sky Screen Confrontation
Chosen as a lucky viewer, Liu Erlong uses her interaction opportunity to demand that the Sky Screen apologize for “slandering” Xiaogang. The question is rejected, and she loses one level of Soul Power as punishment. 62
Undeterred, she asks the Sky Screen to prove that Tang San’s growth and future achievements were entirely due to Yu Xiaogang, confident that Tang San’s projected godhood will validate Xiaogang. 62
When chosen for another interaction opportunity, Liu Erlong asks Tang Si why he is stingy with Immortal Herbs compared with Tang San. The resulting Sky Screen developments provoke Tang San’s hostility; afterward, Liu Erlong regrets provoking him and promises Xiaogang that she will not ask further questions concerning them. 140 141
Misunderstanding Tang Si’s Relationship with Yu Xiaogang
After Tang Si returns to Shrek Academy, Liu Erlong praises his physical foundation under the assumption that Yu Xiaogang had guided his cultivation. Once Flender clarifies that Tang Si planned his own training and was never Xiaogang’s disciple, she still urges Tang Si to accept Xiaogang as his master. 120
Tang Si rejects her proposal and briefly considers withdrawing from Shrek because of her and Xiaogang’s continued insistence. Flender ultimately persuades him not to act impulsively. 120
Immortal Herb Dispute
After witnessing the benefits of Immortal Herbs, Yu Xiaogang asks Liu Erlong to help him acquire one to break through Luo Sanpao’s limitations. Liu Erlong approaches Tang Si to purchase an herb, but he sets the non-negotiable price at one hundred million Gold Soul Coins and refuses to extend credit. 132 135
When Tang Si rejects Xiaogang’s offer to trade the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Soul for an herb and threatens him, Liu Erlong attacks Tang Si in anger. Zhao Wuji blocks her strike and Flender intervenes before the confrontation becomes a full battle. 135
Later, Xiaogang convinces Liu Erlong that Tang Si would be a suitable partner for her and implies that obtaining an Immortal Herb is his final wish. Believing Tang Si desired her because he had looked at her chest, Liu Erlong offers to sleep with Tang Si for one night in exchange for an herb. Tang Si rejects the offer and denies wanting such a trade. 136 137
In later footage, Liu Erlong recounts the incident to Flender and acknowledges that Xiaogang had deliberately pressured her to exchange her body for an Immortal Herb. Tang Si’s rejection and accusation that she was “sick” remain a source of shame and emotional confusion for her. 226
Conflict with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan
When Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan elders confront the Golden Iron Triangle and attack Yu Xiaogang, Liu Erlong immediately activates her Fire Dragon Avatar to retaliate. Flender attempts to assist her, but an eight-ring elder suppresses them before they can employ their Martial Soul Fusion Skill. 171 172
The elders emphasize that the Golden Iron Triangle’s power depends on being able to activate its Fusion Skill, then challenge the group’s assumptions about Luo Sanpao’s Golden Holy Dragon bloodline and the true controller of the technique. 172
Reconsidering Yu Xiaogang and Luo Sanpao
Following Tang Si’s return to Shrek, Liu Erlong’s livestreamed counterpart begins openly questioning whether Yu Xiaogang’s apparent erudition had merely enabled him to deceive those around him. Her certainty in both Xiaogang and their relationship is replaced by repeated admissions that she no longer knows how she feels. 226
When Tang Si explains that Luo Sanpao may be an incomplete Golden Holy Dragon linked to the Golden Iron Triangle’s Fusion Skill, Liu Erlong is deeply shaken. Rather than immediately dismissing the claim as slander, she remains to hear Tang Si’s critique of Xiaogang’s theories alongside Flender. 227
Deliberation over Tang San’s Rescue
As Spirit Hall prepares to intercept Tang San after his escape from Killing City, Liu Erlong joins Flender, Zhao Wuji, Qin Ming, and others in debating whether Shrek should intervene. She favors taking the risk because Tang San is believed to possess divine inheritances and to be destined for godhood, though Zhao Wuji and Lu Qibin question whether Tang San would truly reward them for the danger. 218
