Background / History

Bibi Dong awakened Twin Martial Souls and Innate Full Soul Power at six. Qian Xunji, then Pope of Spirit Hall, took her as his personal disciple. Raised as Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden, she was protected and doted upon; Tang Si described her childhood self as innocent, carefree, and kindhearted 175 176.

She fell in love with Yu Xiaogang and intended to leave Spirit Hall with him. Qian Xunji prevented their departure, imprisoned her in a secret chamber, and raped her. The screen’s disclosure of this abuse also exposed the circumstances behind Qian Renxue’s birth 175 176.

Bibi Dong later killed Qian Xunji and devoured his body and soul as the first Rakshasa Trial, with Tang Hao taking the blame for his death. Her resentment extended to the Angel Clan, whose destruction became one of her goals 176 177.

Tang Si argued that the Rakshasa God and Asura God had engineered these events to corrupt her into a suitable inheritor and eventually use her to temper Tang San. His account was an accusation debated by viewers, not an independently established explanation for every event 176 177.

Personality

Bibi Dong’s attachment to Yu Xiaogang repeatedly overrides her judgment. She defends his theories, credits him with Tang San’s achievements, and reacts violently to criticism of him. Even after evidence undermines his claims, she resists conceding until Spirit Hall’s consecrators force the issue 3 8 51 63 109.

She is intensely proud and punitive toward public humiliation. Tang Si’s disclosures provoke fantasies of imprisonment and torture, while criticism of her authority frequently draws killing intent. Nevertheless, she recognizes Spirit Hall as her political foundation and restrains herself when an outburst could endanger it 10 14 137.

Her capacity for affection is clearest with Hu Liena and, more conflictedly, Qian Renxue. She immediately rushes to protect Hu Liena when the screen’s reward activates unexpectedly. Toward her daughter, resentment coexists with motherly love; seeing Qian Renxue hurt causes her own heart to ache 5 145 178.
