Background / History

Emperor Xue Ye entrusted his son Xue Gu—later known as Xue Ya—to Xue Xing for protection amid looming war and the threat of Spirit Hall. Xue Xing relocated the child to the Notting region and placed him with the Lin Family under the identity Lin Ya. Although Xue Ye had requested an ordinary family, Xue Xing selected the household of a deceased noble couple whose viscount's fief consisted of a single village, judging it sufficiently inconspicuous. 1 2

Xue Xing later became closely involved in Lin Ya's upbringing. He visited and spoiled him with gifts, personally conducted his secret martial soul awakening out of concern for his identity, and immediately arranged a soul-ring hunt after Lin Ya awakened twin martial souls and innate full soul power. He also arranged a secret passage from the awakening chamber to the nearby forest as an emergency escape route. 2 3 4

After discovering Lin Ya's talent, Xue Xing regarded him as the Heaven Dou Empire's future hope. He warned Lin Ya not to reveal his White Swan Martial Soul or attach soul rings to it, fearing that exposure of his twin martial souls would provoke Spirit Hall and Star Luo into targeting him. 4

After Lin Ya provided Black Silver Liquid for blood-relative testing, Xue Xing and Xue Ye used it to confirm that “Xue Qinghe” was an impostor. Xue Xing initially advocated killing the infiltrator, but accepted Xue Ye's decision to conceal their knowledge and buy Lin Ya time to grow rather than provoke Spirit Hall. 13

Xue Xing also helped maintain the pressure on the disguised crown prince. When Qian Renxue complained about her exhausting education, he urged further study rather than offering relief, reinforcing Xue Ye's strategy of occupying her time and restricting her cultivation. 39

The illusion portrayed Xue Xing as devastated by the news and by the exposure of Qian Renxue's true identity. Lin Ya initially saved him during the assault, but the scenario later depicted his death while urging Lin Ya to escape. Xue Xing is intensely protective of his imperial family, particularly Lin Ya.
