Background / History

Tang San is a transmigrator who retains memories from a previous life. Before enrolling at Nuoding Academy, he had mastered Tang Sect hidden weapons and poisons, and he was confident that his Twin Martial Souls would allow him to make a name for himself on the Douluo Continent 74.

At six, he enters Nuoding Academy as a work-study student and moves into Dormitory Seven. His first battle ends in a decisive defeat to Wang Sheng, whose hundred-year ring and first soul skill overwhelm Tang San despite his Tang Sect techniques 74.

After acquiring his first soul ring, Tang San seeks to overcome the humiliation of losing to Wang Sheng by challenging Lin Ya, the academy's boss. Lin Ya defeats Tang San's Blue Silver Grass entanglement instantly with his aura, further humbling him 83 84.

By age twelve, Tang San reaches level 32 and absorbs a two-thousand-year Man Faced Demon Spider soul ring, gaining the Eight Spider Lances as an External Soul Bone. Later, he contests Meng Yiran's New Interception Sect for the right to use the Tang Sect name, treating the conflict as a fight for his inheritance and legacy 263 264 265.

Tang San loses the hidden-weapons competition to Meng Yiran and, under the terms of their wager, loses the right to call himself Tang Sect. He nevertheless refuses to abandon his claim internally and vows that he will one day challenge Meng Yiran again to reclaim the name 266 267.

At fourteen, Tang San serves as Shrek Academy's vice captain in the Continental Soul Master Tournament. His team is severely outmatched by Heaven Dou Academy, while Tang San remains burdened by the memory of Lin Ya, whose overwhelming reputation and past victory have become a persistent inner demon 301 303 304 307.

During the tournament finals, Tang San unveils his Clear Sky Hammer through Shrek's Seven-in-One Fusion Skill. Despite the potential of his Twin Martial Souls, he and the other Shrek members are overwhelmed by Huo Wu, an eighty-fourth-level Soul Douluo, forcing Yu Xiaogang to surrender on their behalf 321 322.

After the tournament, Spirit Hall ambushes the retreating Heaven Dou contingent specifically to eliminate Tang San. The Golden Iron Triangle's fusion skill cannot withstand Devil Bear Douluo, and Tang San's final hidden-weapon attack fails to pierce the Hyper Douluo's defenses. Devil Bear Douluo kills Tang San with a casual strike 330 331 332.

Personality

Tang San is proud of the Tang Sect's legacy and deeply invested in proving himself through its hidden weapons. His early defeats affect him severely: after losing to Wang Sheng, he doubts himself, and Meng Yiran's superiority in hidden weapons drives him into a brief collapse 74 266.

He remains stubbornly determined after setbacks. He challenges Lin Ya to confront his prior shame and vows to reclaim the Tang Sect name after losing his bet against Meng Yiran 83 267.

Tang San is intensely competitive and prone to internalizing defeat. Lin Ya's effortless victory over him becomes his greatest inner demon, which Shi Nian exploits in an illusion designed to break his will 307 308.

Despite his fears and repeated setbacks, Tang San does not abandon his companions when faced with certain death. Surrounded by Spirit Hall forces and unable to escape, he chooses to make one final attack in the name of the Tang Sect 331.

After taking the Man Faced Demon Spider soul ring, Tang San clashes with Meng Yiran over the Tang Sect name. He accepts a hidden-weapons duel to determine which side can claim the Tang Sect legacy, but loses every contest and the resulting bet 264 265 266 267.

Continental Soul Master Tournament

As Shrek Academy's vice captain, Tang San leads the team into the Continental Soul Master Tournament at level 37. Shrek is defeated by the far stronger Heaven Dou Academy, and Tang San later reveals his Clear Sky Hammer through the Seven-in-One Fusion Skill during the finals. Huo Wu decisively defeats the Shrek team, compelling Yu Xiaogang to surrender 301 303 321 322.

Shi Nian's Nightmare

Dream-Remnant Shi Nian targets Tang San before Shrek's match with Canghui Academy. Shi Nian traps him in a nightmare centered on Lin Ya, exposing the depth of Tang San's insecurity and fixation on defeating him. Tang Hao shatters the illusion and kills Shi Nian with a single hammer strike 307 308.

Spirit Hall Ambush and Death

Spirit Hall ambushes the Heaven Dou teachers and students after the tournament, with Tang San as the principal target.
