Background / History

Bulma lived at Dr. Brief's residence in West City with her family, including her older sister Tights. As a child, she helped Dr. Brief repair machinery in the family's backyard. 5

Roger first sought entry to the Brief residence by claiming he wished to see her. Bulma refused to admit the unfamiliar visitor through the intercom, then doubted his claim to possess a spaceship after meeting him. 5 6 She was angered when Dr. Brief proposed a childhood betrothal between her and Roger, objecting strongly to the idea. 6

After witnessing Roger's ki blast, Bulma accepted that his claimed fighting power was real and reluctantly began calling him “big brother.” Over the following three days, her initial hostility softened into friendship and a slight fondness for him. 7 8
