Corleone is a hidden inner aspect of Victor, representing the violent and morally dangerous side of his nature. Victor first senses him unconsciously and gives him the name “Corleone,” associating him with the evil within himself 171.

In the Cave of Dreams, Corleone appears directly during Victor’s personal fear trial. Unlike the previous illusions faced by the Drummonds, Victor’s fear is internal: Corleone reveals himself as a version of Victor who has endured years of suppressed murderous desire 171.
