History

Kumogakure Submission

After Qin Yu returned from Kumogakure, Konoha received an official apology concerning the Hizashi Hyuga incident, along with a highly valuable savings book. Tsunade considered the results so substantial that Qin Yu had effectively “nationalized” Kumogakure. 2

Chunin Exams and Orochimaru's Invasion

Konoha hosted the Chunin Exams as a display of village strength, with the outcome influencing mission commissions, funding, and treatment from feudal lords. Hiruzen intended to keep Qin Yu's strength secret until the exams, using him as Konoha's trump card. 10

Orochimaru later launched an assault on Konoha with summoned beasts and Impure World Reincarnation, pitting Hiruzen against the revived First and Second Hokage. 30 31 Qin Yu relocated the battle away from the village with a large-scale space-time technique, preventing the fight from further damaging Konoha. 32

The invasion escalated when One-Tail Shukaku appeared within Konoha and prepared a Tailed Beast Ball. Qin Yu entered Shukaku's sealing space through the Flying Thunder God and subdued it with Sharingan genjutsu, ending the immediate threat. 34 36

Succession Crisis

The village's survival during the invasion elevated Qin Yu to the status of Konoha Hero among civilians and shinobi. Hiruzen subsequently attempted to appoint him as Hokage, despite opposition from the advisors and Danzō. 37 40

The proposed succession exposed Root's inaction during both the recent crisis and the Nine-Tails incident. Hiruzen stripped Danzō of eligibility for the Hokage position, reduced Root's size, and reassigned dismissed Root shinobi to the Hokage's direct ANBU. 41 43

Tsunade's Inauguration
