Background / History

Sarutobi Hiruzen is the son of Sarutobi Sasuke, Konoha’s Minister of Rites. As a child of a senior official, he receives special attention from teachers, which he resents because he wants his accomplishments to be seen as his own rather than the result of his father’s position.
