Background and History
Stussy grew up an orphan, struggling for food before World Government agents took her and other children to a training facility. There she learned intelligence work and killing techniques under harsh conditions; her fellow trainees gradually died or disappeared. Her performance eventually earned her a high position in CP0, which sent her to the New World to establish the Pleasure District 196. She credited the World Government with giving her a life free from the insecurity of her childhood 165.
As Queen of the Pleasure District, Stussy became an underworld ruler while concealing her CP0 allegiance. She invited Nangong Yan to her headquarters with a letter implying that she wanted to join his pirates. The invitation was a trap: she attempted to poison and assassinate him, but he recognized her identity and defeated her 160 163. When she chose death rather than join him, he killed her, then expended a year of his lifespan to restore his eye and resurrect her 165 166.
Stussy joined the Demon Emperor Pirates and brought her Pleasure District forces into the crew. Nangong Yan appointed her his secretary to handle daily affairs; she later became Eleventh Division captain and took charge of the crew’s internal affairs 167 168 190 245. Their relationship grew beyond its initially coercive beginnings, and Stussy appeared as a bride at a later ceremony 195 196 254.
