Background / History

Kaguya's will arrives in the pirate world through the God Tree Fruit consumed by Gato. The fruit attempts to summon a God Tree to absorb the world's essence and eventually restore Kaguya, using Gato as a sacrifice. The world's rejection prevents the descent and forces Kaguya to conceal herself within him. 3

Gato provokes her into revealing herself by threatening his own life, exploiting the fact that the world's consciousness reacts whenever Kaguya exposes her aura. Though she initially regards him as an insignificant human, she accepts his proposal: he will help collect natural energy as a native of the world, while she will help him gain power and extend his lifespan. 4

As part of this arrangement, Kaguya teaches Gato chakra extraction and supplies him with extensive knowledge of wind-, fire-, and lightning-style ninjutsu. Her influence on his body allows him to begin with three chakra natures, but even imparting knowledge risks exposing her to the world. 5
