Background / History

Strawberry ambushed Fisher Tiger while Tiger escorted Koala back to her hometown. Fisher Tiger escaped the ambush but later died from his wounds, making Strawberry the target of the Hancock sisters' vengeance. 10

The sisters intercepted Strawberry near an island on the route to the New World. During the ensuing battle, Boa Hancock awakened Conqueror's Haki and overwhelmed him with successive attacks; Gorud later states that she had defeated him as well. 10 14

After recovering from his injuries, Strawberry accompanied Vice Admiral Aokiji's fleet to the Calm Belt. He volunteered to enter Amazon Lily's waters as the vanguard and recruit Hancock as a Warlord of the Sea, receiving a three-day deadline from Aokiji. 10

During the operation, Strawberry identified Norse from a badly inaccurate bounty poster that listed him as “Boa Norse” and depicted him as a woman. He recognized that Norse could fly and considered him an unusual pirate despite his listed bounty of only 100 Berries. 11 12

Strawberry confronted Norse and ordered an attack while requesting Aokiji's reinforcements. The encounter ended disastrously: the G8 warship sank, his force lost combat capability, and Norse's Sun Power interfered with the Transponder Snails, preventing contact with Aokiji. 12 13 Strawberry was rescued and reprimanded by Aokiji for losing a Headquarters warship and Marines in a single morning. 14
